Hi, I'm new here. There is an ad in my local paper that reads as follows, For Sale 1981 Husqvarna CR175, very good condition, all original, rare vintage, asking $1200 obo. I cannot find much info on this bike. What can you tell me about it and what is the value of these bikes? Thanks

    Welcome to the group!
Great bike, same chassis and suspension as the larger bikes, excellent handling.
Engine parts may be a little harder to find than the larger bikes.
I ride the 250 and 390's, so I don't have any personal experience with parts for the smaller bikes.
You could also easily bolt a larger engine into it.
Hopefully you'll get some better info shortly.

No such beast. no CR 175 ever. no 175 in of any type in 81. 75 to 77 had WR's and kit for 82's and 83 had WR and XC. Pics? Serial numbers? description would help.

The above pictured bike on Ebay is in pretty good condition and only requiring some minor mods / updates to make it a good rider. The CR denotes a close ratio transmission usually used in motocross type activity. Much depends on the actual condition, parts availability, your handyman abilities and what you intend to use the bike for. If you want to just goof around on some local trails it would be a good bike. If you wanted to get serious in the woods you might be better off with a larger motor depending on your physical size and abilities. If it's a solid bike and that's what you want it would make a good starter bike. Price often depends on demand. If it requires a lot of work, it may be awhile before you have the opportunity to ride it.
