• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I should not be left alone and bored with my strada

When I first got the bike in august I was so pumped to have a bike I could ride on the road(legally that is). I swore up and down to the wife that I would trade my quad in for it and leave it stock and not mess with it. Well my desire/necessity to modify and tinker with the things I own didn't last long. Ended up doing and exhaust within two months, a booster plug a month later and now the intake mod. Just finished up blacking out the plain white plastics tonight. Want a unique look for my strada, plus I used plasti dip so it's not permanent and can be peeled off whenever. Anyone that has some insight on other mods or things to do please feel free to comment. This is my first road bike so everything is a new learning curve and very to eager to keep learning about these things.

I do want to make a shout out to the people who originally did the intake mod and say a huge thank you, I only ride on the road and have 2.5k miles on it and still had a undesired amount of dirt and dust in the throttle body.
Here are some pictures of when I got it to now;

This is with the new box I got from Walmart, didn't feel the need spending several hundred dollars on one.
Also got the exhaust from screaming Demon installed as well.20140915_125329.jpg 20140915_125337.jpg 20140915_125352.jpg

Here's what I finished tonight with the plasti dip. I really like how it turned out, just did the plain white in black.20150118_163454.jpg 20150118_163503.jpg

Looks good and somewhat unique :-)

Suggested Mods - Further info on all these is available on this forum.

Lose the oversize Licence Plate Holder.

Drill swinging arm to release trapped water.

Move the AIT sensor to the front of the bike, I suggest inside the air intake on the right hand side. This is particularly necessary with the Pod mod as the air entering the Engine is not actually passing over the sensor any longer so you have false high readings to the ECU.

Perform the Cannisterectomy if not already done so.

Reroute the Clutch cable to prevent chafing issues.

Drop the front sprocket to 15T and see how much fun it is to ride then.

Enjoy !!

Regarding the swing arm drilling. you may not have to do it. I drilled mine, and then noticed that there is already a hole that goes through to where the chain adjuster is. poked a bit of wire in there and it definitely goes all the way through.

Factory f250 long beds came with tall suspension back in the late 60's and into the 70's. Much taller than a F100 was stock. Those F250's were known as high boys.
