    hiya.. can some one help..
i think my smaller top gasket has gone on my husqvarna sm125, 08 reg....
would this cause my bike to bog and not tickover.. then it cuts out..???
an when i give it some revs.. theres a lot of white smoke from the exhaust.. and it sounds like the sparkplugs fowling.. ???
can any one help me ??
    i took my topend off..
    piston and barrel are ok..
it looks like some coolant has been getting into the barrel.. the spark plug is covered in black watery oil..
iv now cleaned piston, barrel, powervalves out. an im waiting for a gasket set and new sparkplug to come..

just wondered if anyone had any suggestions for me..???
    thanks for lookin.. mike

I would flush the crank to make sure you have no coolant down there before you put it back together. Other than that, it's not the end of the world. Just make sure everything gets torqued properly on reassembly.

Put the head on a piece of glass and check for flatness.

Traditional coolant using glycol have a very pungent, sweet smell when burnt. It's unmistakable!
Not sure if that AGIP stuff smells the same or not though as I dumped it ASAP.

If your head mating surface is flat and your cylinder head mating surface is flat then its either a bad o0ring or the nuts are improperly torqued.

Cutting out and bogging sound like a jetting issue to me. You'll need to richen the jetting when the temps get colder or you'll starve the motor for fuel and it will act strangely like you've described.

Good luck and let us know how things turn out!

dozens of them, kicked to the curb
smoke: right crank seal leak most likely or over-oiled filter.

coolant smells sweet, washes stuff clean when burned.

them o-rings rarely fail, no reason for them too as they are in recesses. is there any 'tracking' on the head/deck surfaces like combustion gasses/coolant have been bypassing? make darn sure the deck/head sealing surfaces are spotless and perfectly smooth.
use the correct torque specs too.

    thanks for the reply mate..
i am going to take it to my local dealer .. QB motorcycles.. in quarrybank.westmidlands. uk. hopefully they will sort it out.. i have to wait for tuesday. :(
they said because ECU4 came on my digital dash, it meant that my THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS) BROKE...(the bike went really boggy and wasnt running properly ever since)
so i bought a new TPS FOR £180....
FITTED IT MYSELF.. and still it wasnt running properly.. and then i was riding down the road and it just bogged then stoped.. it then wouldnt start.. (before that aswell ECU6 has been coming on the digital dash.. i would stop the bike, turn it off then back on and it would go off...)
my local husky dealer said that it needs to be plugged into a computer the be reproggramed.. because of the potentionmeters in the carb or sumit like that???? i dont have a clue : confused:
does any one have any ideas??
