I'm looking for more power from my wr250 & was wondering if the 360 top end can be fitted also
every time I see the specs it says my bike has a six speed box mine definately only has five & I can account for the bikes entire life its never had either the engine or gearbox opened so wheres my other gear .

What year is your bike ? Edit : In your avatar do you mean a 2000 model ? If so I think they were 5 speeds.

My '09 250 is way faster than my '00 360. The 360 has more grunt, about the same mid but nothing up top where the 250 takes off.

Never rode a 300 but hear good things about them and the top end would probably fit your bike

Yeh its a 2000wr still has good compression & embarases a lot af new bikes but it is getting on & doesn't have the same poke it used too. With the gearbox the spec sheets definitely say six speed for that year & it feels like it needs another gear plus very rarely it will jam in gear & has to be turned off & rocked to get it out .I am about to do a complete rebuild so any advice to get more bottom end & midrange would be great

I have a 2000 wr motor and it is a wide ratio five speed.Eric Gore(sp) ports them and he has a kit to go 265 or so. I talked to him a couple years back when I was due for a rebuild but in the end, did it locally.

    360 top end won't fit in a WR250 motor...different motor altogether.

You can get a Eric Gorr big bore kit for a WR250 which will bring it up to a 295cc which can be expensive if your from Australia so do you have a budget for this bike for the rebuild?
If your from Victoria or NSW, give Dave McCarthy from two stroke performance a call and get a quote on a big bore kit and he can do the porting, squish and jetting.

2k WR250 had a better bottom and mid then most 250's in that era so a couple of easy mods like gearing and change from OE pipe to a FMF gnarly does wonders.

The 250 can be changed to a 300. A local husky dealer told me if I do the switch id have to change pipes or the bottom end would be too hard to control. This confused me because I thought the 250/300 had the same pipe factory. But the mid and top I was told would improve a good amount
