I want a 2010 610. Do I wait for it or buy a leftover 2009??? I've been searching for some pics to see if there are any improvements, but have found NADA! Anyone got any pics of 2010 or any ideas as to any changes? This close to a new model year I hate to pay for a 2009 for basically the same price. Should I wait or get??? Also, when will they be on the shelves??? I don't want to wait til freakin' May!!!

Word is that the new street models (the TE610 is part of that) will be unveiled this November in Milan. There is also a rumor that the replacement for the beloved 610 will be an actual 630cc bike. Time will tell

Lots and lots of rumors. Sure feels like there is an all new bike coming out.

I spent some time oddling the new KTM 690 and for sure after that my 610 felt dated.

    Time will tell.

My money is on an all new bike with a 601cc motor designed in Austria...but it wont be available for awhile and it will suffer first year glitches. They all do.

Friend with a KTM 690 rode my 610 and liked it better. Lots of people on the fence about that bike. Sure is good looking though. Yesterday a buddy with a new GS800 BMW (which he just sold) rode my SM610 and liked it a lot better than his 800. the 610 is old and dated but it just works and really splits the street / dirt better than about anything IMHO. this new 630 should be interesting.

I have to admit, I'm the same...I was looking to go with a 610 very soon (in between a month of snowboarding, getting back to work and then moving house I figured that Nov was about the real 'look for a bike month').

    Now should I wait?

There don't appear to be that many 610's going over here in Aus anyway. And of course its all about 'what will fit from the 610 aftermarket line - bigger tank? any1 going to make one, steering damper? will the 610 line still fit or will we have to wait, etc, etc.

HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT THAT??? WHO SQUEALED??? :banghead: I WANT A NAME... :bonk:

...oh, errr... sorry, what I meant to say was "What on earth made you come up with a crazy and obviously completely inaccurate idea like that? How totally preposterous."

( If it was true I might be tempted myself... :ride: )

I just bought a 2009 610 TE yesterday. Will take delivery in a weeks time as it was one of the last one's in South Africa. Being transported up and then the dealer will assemble it. While i was there he did also mention that later this year they will be launching the 630. Going to take my chances with the 610 right now. Then i need to do some mods that i see are a must on the forum. Big step for me as i have a 2007 450 TE that i love to bits( Not for Sale)--Just sold my Xr 650r ( uncorked) and my BMW 650 Dakar that i have been using for Tours that i run looks like it is also sold. Just hope i am not going to be dissapointed as i have never riden a 610 TE.Will have to use the 610 for Tours now.

Hmmm. I'm toying with the idea of replacing my GS with something like a 610 so the earth doesn't tilt each time I move my bike. Did anything more trickle out yet about the potential 630 replacement?

I don't know, but all you dudes in Europe and downunder get all the cool stuff first anyway. So, even if they do a new 630, we might not see one in the U.S. for 6 more months. We still only have a handful of the new TC250's. I hope they don't drop the ball on this deal too. I want a new (but reasoanbly priced) Husky within the next 3 or 4 months and I don't care if it's the current 610 or a new 630 as long as it is both dirt and street capable and doesn't cost $10K. I'm sick of these Euro bikes going up $500/year. However, I have to admit that if it really is something new and they blow me away, my hand might sign the dotted line without my brain even noticing. It does that with the throttle on my 450 sometimes.
