Have only got one very minor quibble. The power-up kit has worked wonders ... BUT ever since installing it, the little green idle light has been in intermittent blink mode. Was told by local dealer that this is to be expected and so I put up with it ... until it was mentioned here that it shouldn´t. How can I stop it blinking? Does the `puter need re- programming? Is it some kind of warning? Please help!
Flashing neutral is an indication of fuel injection problem. In your case since the bike is running good, it is most likely a sensor out of whack causing the ECU to ignore it's reading and indicate FI problem. This happened after PU was installed so this is suspect. Try unplugging PU and plugging lambda sensor back in. If this doesn't work try disconnecting battery for 15-20 mins to reset ECU. If still no go you may have to hook up an I-beat or other interface to troubleshoot the error. PU installed on my 630 and no flashing light.
Thanx Willie! Removing the pu plug and re-connecting the sensor makes it ok again (no flashing light). So will do what you advised and disconnect the battery for a while this evening. Phoned the Husky import agent. He was no help ... told me to get the dealer to `phone him (which he had done ... was told that the flashing light was to be expected). So, if yours is ok, there´s light at the end of the tunnel and I´ll keep on till it´s sorted.
Good to see you found problem! Looks like you have a faulty PU plug. Cycling power will not make any difference. The dealer should provide a replacement plug. Bike probably not in "PU" mode with bad plug.
Willie, you´re a GENIUS! As soon as I read your pm, I realized the mistake I´d made. Just back from the workshop and I disconnected the battery again. This time with the ignition ON! Problem solved. No more flashing neutral. Am very grateful Patrick
