Work is coming together for Speedsville Enduro. The drawing date is only a month away on 8/7. Some new trail sections are being added, we will stay off blown out hare scrambles trail this year (We thought everyone loved GNCC style trail!) and more creek sections everyone loves. Only run where ECEA, NETRA and WYNOA meet head to head. ECEA has bragging rights with Jerod Stoner's 2007 win. I'm sure NETRA's "Hollywood" Brooks Hamilton and others would like to get it back. Entry form soon. Norman
Ill be there norman!! was pissed it was off our schedule last year!! this is a fun enduro with plenty of terrain changes everywhere
Thanks! Do me a favor and give it a plug on my thread on NEDB. First reply and someone hijacked it already.
Looking forward to it! My buddy Scott and I will be battling for the coveted C-Vet fifth place trophy--you ARE awarding down to fifth for us lowly, slowly C riders, right?
For all those that have never ridden the Speedsville Enduro , it's on some of the nicest land that you will ever ride on in the Eastern United States. Nice forested valleys and fields with DIRT not ROCKS! Easy to get to and not more than 4 hours at the most from Boston, New York and Philadelphia. It's in central New York and it's some of the most beautiful country you'll ever ride in. Yes, it's a great event... and that's coming from a south Jersey Sandflee! BlipBlip
I should have been a B rider this year, but they upped the point requirement. I'm really looking forward to this event!!
Speedsville Enduro The Event was great! It Looked tough and had long milage, the riders got their moneys worth the club did great and provided A detailed spectator sheet with loads of interisting views. I got to talk with Norman but missed Fury1. Great Job IDR.
Sorry I missed you, Norm--we rolled in super late on Saturday night, and we hit the road as soon as I managed to get back to the car--good thing we did, as we hit over an hour of delay on I-81. It was a great event, but I have to say my arch-enemy of the off-road world is mud ruts, of which there were plenty. I houred out at mile 114 and I simply didn't have the strength to ride the final six or eight miles of trail, so I bailed onto a road and made my way back that way. The first two people I asked for directions back to Speedsville didn't quite know what they were talking about, so I got a nice tour of the surrounding towns trying to find my way back. Man, I'm sore today!!
Oh, and I really liked the riverbeds--it was great to drop into a cool river bed and find some predictable traction on the rocks. That was good stuff.
Had an absolute blast out there, always fun,was greasy in a few spots, but everything had a nice hard bottom, nice to see plenty of C rider friendly sections, with huge resets,I kept thinking they were going to punish us after gas,but they chose to have a very nice well run enduro which you guys should be proud of,probably the best one Ive been to in a few years. I lost very little time in the first loop, just made the check after gas after taking just a bit too long to re-fuel,saw quite a few huskys out on the trails and also had a deer blast past me across the trail at mile 104.0 and realized how lucky I was there wasnt another behind it,would have cleaned me off the bike! got a bit tired at the end and was really looking for that last reset at 119.0 !! ended up dropping a 28? for the day and left as we had a long ride and didnt see the end results, nice meeting you Norm as well,I did see Drew, but he was talking to someone and I didnt want to barge in on your conversation, gotta say my WER suspension worked flawless!! didnt touch anything other than set the sag,and I didnt feel any deflection and was ripping past guys in the riverbed areas, cant wait to dial in a few different suspension settings at the Husky gathering
