What goes on at one of the ADV Gatherings here's the unedited version...not suitable for minors link to gallery http://rob578.smugmug.com/Category/ADV-Spring-Frolic-in-the/22723606_DNw9CH This one is at an undisclosed National Forest Campground in the middle of nowhere West Virginia back in April. PM for particulars if you would like to attend next year. We rode 150-200 miles a day, lots of fun.
I have met and rode with a few guys from ADV, hit and miss but mostly good. this is my favorite pic from that link
Right about the hit or miss. The one pic wiTh the XT 225, that guy was in his late 50's and that had to be the fastest XT in the world. I never saw a brake light, pinned all day and just pitch it sideways in the turns. 250 miles on gravel roads with no cars or LEO may not be the most challenging riding but it's loads of fun.
It really is. Been doing the AMA Blackdog DS the last 4 years and it is a hoot. Lots of hooligan riding and wheelies.
That hooligan attitude is the one thing that makes trail riding to me much better than about any racing ... If you wanna slow down, not a problem ... if you wanna rail a corner or 2, no problem .... Racing is intense the ~entire route ... It can be fun but always intense to some degree ...
