125-200cc Ignition cover hole

    Hi - I discovered a hole at the bottom of the igntion cover on our 2008 CR125. I was about to JB Weld it but found the same on the 2009 WR125. Can anyone explain what the pupose of this hole is, if any?

    It is a drain hole as Gotlabs suggested. Surprised there wasn't more dirt in there considering the wet condition we encounter. I was advised not to plug it due to condensation and heat build up. I'll pull the cover to clean as part of my regular maintenance from now on.
