I went to install an IMS tank on a 2011 CR150 today and was surprised to find out it doesnt fit. The 11 has an addtional gusset in the frame that doesnt allow the tank to drop onto the frame properly.

Dont be too concerned though. I got out the heat gun and heated up the tank and pushed in the piece of tank that was hitting the frame and it was fixed.

Just thought I would give a heads up that a little bit of gentle persuasion is needed for the tanks to fit the 11 150s.

I had no problem fitting 2 tanks to 2011 WR150s.

You have an early build 2010.5/2011 WR150. Those early build bikes were US only. Canada didnt get those early production bikes. The frame has been changed mid way through production. The full production 2011 WR/CRs have the new frame with the extra gusset.

Oh man. What were the circumstances? Abuse from a case hit or just a random break?

Are you saying the early USA models will be prone to breakage like this ?

Wait a minute lets not jump to any conclusions based off a photo. If there were a problem we would have already heardabout it back in 09 when the new framed 125 came out. I got a feeling there are some serious reasons for this crazy photo! Sure as hec could be bad bad bad. But know I am not going to slow down and there are ALOT of fast guys thrashing on these bikes with NO problems!!! Anyways what is the story behind this photo and only tell us if you are SURE of the reasons behind it PLEASE!

I don't know about you, but I sure do see a broken frame there and that is not acceptable on any dirt bike for any reason.

Isn't that broken in about the same area that the TXC450 frame (in a different thread) had cracked?

Exactly right Mike! [IMG]. I wondered what year the pulverized 150 was. Maybe I hijacked the thread, but I thought it was an important question.

Maybe not in Sweden?... where the picture post originated from. Although I readily admit, I have no clue. Again, I simply asked the question in hopes it might give some useful information about the year model of the pulverized bike. Maybe you could help nail it down Dwight. Inquiring minds want to know from the experts.

dozens of them, kicked to the curb
the ims on my 09 is a joke. i'm contemplating sending it back. worst fitting thing ive ever bolted on a bike. ive had a dozen or more of their tanks and none fit like this. woof....

ive busted frames, esp alum ones. they go for a variety of reasons. how about a side panel cutting into a spar? or a head weld failure? steel frame failures are rare, even if they get wet alot. alum ones? i hate alum frames. yuk.
