Hello All. Interesting to see a couple of familiar names in here, some who may know me and some that would not. I have already seen plenty of useful info in these pages to help guide my thoughts on buying a TR650. However there are only a couple of things that are causing doubt (apart from not having sold my previous bike...) The valve checking issue is a hurdle but not a deal breaker, but the reports of a very dodgy airfilter seal seem like it could be an issue that ruins what otherwise looks like an excellent base to build a great dirt road tourer.

Does anyone that has put a lot of dusty miles/kms on a TR650 have any comment on this?

Both issues not show stoppers. Forum members have had success with modifying the filter seal. If it was still a problem there would be a lot of dead bikes as dust will kill an engine very quickly...

Yeah, I have seen a couple of the posts, but remain a little unconvinced. I guess I need to go an get a dealer to pull one apart for me so I can see for myself.

Its not a problem I have checked multiple times and I just put some grease around the seal. Plus UniFilter came out with a oiled filter that should be fine too.
