    Hey everyone
I currently ride a Kawa Versys and it just does not do enough for me once I get off pavement. I have been looking at the TR650 Terra, KLR and DR650. Just did a test ride of the TR650 and it does it for me in every way. The dealer wont go below $6650 for a new 2014. I am in Washington and I think they have the last 2 in the state or at least close to me.

Does this seem like a fair price? Seems a little high too me but the fact that there isn't any inventory around anymore seems that it may drive the price up a little. I may just pull the trigger on it because it was such a nice test drive.

    Appreciate your thoughts.

You could use the following to negotiate with the dealer:

    - Bike is an orphan, no longer in production
    - Known issues (stalling, water in swing arm ect...) even though its not a big problem with all the forums. But could be used as leverage to help your case for a lower price.

All the best, you wont be sorry you got the bike!

I came off 4 years on a '09 KLR650 and have ridden my buddy's DR650. The TR650 is significantly ahead of either of those 2., especially the KLR.

The only thing the TR really needs is to get the fueling dialed in to cure the low speed stumbles. The rest of it is pretty good stock, well except for the lame plastic rear tail rack but there's a cheap and good replacement for that. There are several options for improving the fueling, just scout the various threads.

For reference I paid $6,800 OTD in SoCal for mine about a month ago (9/17/14). It was essentially $5,630 or so plus tax, License, and doc fees ($666) and setup & delivery fees ($471) numbers are rounded off for simplicity.

The 6650 is OTD, I looked on cycle trader and it seems like the Terra's on there are going for the same price or more before taxes and fees. So maybe it is a pretty good deal.
