The Husqvarna literature says the TE300 has an 11 liter tank. In reality it is closer to 8 liters. One of the reasons I went with a husky 300 over a Beta is advertised tank size. I feel misled and a little sore about it.

My TE250 definitely has an 11 litre tank. Accidentally ran it dry at an MX track when I was getting in shape and waiting for the snow to melt. Unless I'm just bushwhacking with buddies I leave it on reserve, as the "on" intake sits so bloody high.

Have you measured your tank capacity?

the only bikes i have ever come across that represented this accurately were my old swedes. ive checked em with water and empty milkjugs, they are close!
my 95 wxc is supposed to be over 3 gallons and it holds like 2.4?!?!? that sucks on a 360

My Beta is supposed to have a 2.5 GALLON tank. I emptied it completely and could only get 2.4 in it at the gas station. With my Lectron carb it's not a problem. I've rode 67 miles and never hit reserve.

That's pretty close to 2.5 gallons. These huskys are not even close to what's advertised.

Do you have any complaints on the Beta?

That's the good and bad with numbers. They are real. Like some squawk here about better gas mileage on their bikes but never provide any real numbers to back up their claims... Or a new suspension is better.. Impossible to actually draw any real conclusion from open ended answers like that.

I like numbers. They are real.

And I certainly hope you guys get what was advertised about the product before your purchase.

Husky did make a 2.4 tank for the nineties husky and some guys switched to the smaller tanks for racing, i know some guys that did. Maybe you got stuck with a bike that was switched. I am pretty sure the original tanks held somewhere close to the factory spec.

hmmm, i wondered that. would the shrouds be the same for both tanks? i have two sets of great oe shrouds that fit the tank i have perfect. its not real bad especially now with the lectron but another half gallon would be awesome..ill check it out, thanks!

I every time I ride it I like it more! No complaints. I especially like the seat height. I rode with 3 friends last Sunday and it was kinda funny watching them tip over from loosing they're balance from their tall bikes.

Someone posted on this a while back complaining about the tank size and they used boiling water and air pressure to swell the tank with good results. Not sure I would attempt that though.

Well lets put it this way, I buy 10 of fuel at a time, and when you run it dry you can stuff the whole lot in the tank.

okay just checking...other year huskies have dedicated shrouds for bigger and smaller tanks even tho they look similar and its all "specd husky"

I wonder if there are different speced tanks for different markets? Couldn't put 10 liters in my tank.

I've seen many people post actual numbers of better MPG with Lectrons. Walt, 454x and myself all have and I have seen many more. Walt had some of the best MPG increases I have seen. 2-6 mpg is typical from feedback from my customers. Some people are even using them instead of a big tank as it gets them that last 10 or so miles they need. Or maybe you were talking about something else?
