New to the forum and brand new to a 2009 TXC 250! From what I've read, the general impression seems to be the '09 TXC has a pretty big bog stock. In my limited experience, the bike does seem to have difficulty in low rpms including warming up to idle. Cold-choke start is required and even after several minutes the bike does not idle confidently. Have most txc owners out here used the JD jet kit? Is that mod a given at this point? I'm new to all of this (re-entering motorcycling) and don't want to make issue where there is none. Also, if I were to go forward with the JD kit, would a newbie (yet mechanically inclined) individual be fine following the instructions in the kit? Thanks in advance!

Thanks David. It seems worth the time and expense to realize the benefit of their expertise.

Any other standard mods or insights you'd like to share with a new owner?

    Cheers,
