New to the forum and brand new to a 2009 TXC 250! From what I've read, the general impression seems to be the '09 TXC has a pretty big bog stock. In my limited experience, the bike does seem to have difficulty in low rpms including warming up to idle. Cold-choke start is required and even after several minutes the bike does not idle confidently. Have most txc owners out here used the JD jet kit? Is that mod a given at this point? I'm new to all of this (re-entering motorcycling) and don't want to make issue where there is none. Also, if I were to go forward with the JD kit, would a newbie (yet mechanically inclined) individual be fine following the instructions in the kit? Thanks in advance! -Simon
It was mandatory for me and very easy install! http://www.cafehusky.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6332 David
Thanks David. It seems worth the time and expense to realize the benefit of their expertise. Any other standard mods or insights you'd like to share with a new owner? Cheers, Simon
