Iv got a husky wr 125 and on the rad covers the decals are peeling away from the the plastics i would like to know if there is a method for making them stick down again.I was thinking of trying a hair dryer, i thought the heat would make the glue sicky again. If anyone has any tryed and tested way of sorting this out i would be over the moon, the decals are in realy good condition it'd be a shame to change the whole lot of decals because of this. Thanks

I used contact cement on my vintage bike. It's still holding on.

    Here is what I do.

Restick your decal. Outline the decal with masking tape. Do this so you don't get glue past your decal when you re stick it.

You then can lift the decal and using a small brush. Apply a thin coat of contact cement or use 3m weather strip adhesive.

Heat decal with hair dryer then push down to re stick. Pull masking tape off and then using a new piece of masking tape. Tape over it to hold it down. Remove tape so you don't lift the decal after couple of hours. Day later you can remove any excess glue with lacquer thinner.

If you get dirt behind the decal. Pull it back and using a little lacquer thinner/paper towel. Kinda wipe the dirt off. Gotta be real careful cause you can eat thru back side of decal. Then using small brush lightly coat back of decal using above glues. Don't get carried away on back side of decal with glue cause it can eat thru the decal from backside or you can make a lump in it when resticking.

I just had the tank off my other bike and went through this. The tank graphics have been peeling slowly for the last two years, and collecting dirt where they were still a little sticky.
I sprayed the underside of the loose part of the graphics with purple power degreaser, scrubbed with a small scrub brush, and rinsed it with water. All the dirty sticky stuff came off. When it dried (over night) I applied a thin layer of contact cement.

if you have any grip glue in the toolbox, give it a try. apply to both the decal and plastic, let dry quickly, stick back together. it's important to not have any sand or dirt on the decal though.

this method worked on my TC last season.

I have had good luck with Locktite super glue. After the usual cleanup of course.

Its kind of a clear yellowish color. It is used to stick down formica counter tops. Put a coat on back side of counter top. Then a coat on adhering surface. Once both touch, they are not coming apart.
