Just wanted to find out if I was alone with my issues. I have a 38mm apt cast smart carb and after 4-5 rides the slide starts to stick really bad. More towards wide open. This isn't the first time I've had the issue. They took the carb back and went through it completely last time. Now it's doing it again and I've sent them 10+ emails, Facebook messages and calls with no answer! Just wanted to see if anyone has had this issue or problems with customer service.

They had a disgruntled employee take down their sight and web pages with some kind of attack. Smart carb has since split off from APT and is an independent company. Here is their new website:

    https://technologyelevatedco.com/

    and facebook page:

    https://www.facebook.com/technologyelevated/

You should get a quick reply from either site.

EDIT: The problems with their website, e-mails, and facebook page were just the rumors that I heard, not official, so take that with a grain of salt.

I seem to remember something about moisture/condensation causing the slides to stick.

Yeah my slide is locked into place. It's not a slight sticking. They replaced the guide before for the same issue

I have a lectron and the slightest amount of water keeps the slide also sticking

have it pretty much sealed on all openings (except air intake and reed opening)
yet through some water crossings where a little water enters trough the air filter I have still the same issue

have the Idea of polishing the slide surfaces a bit yet i am not 100% convince that that would solve the problem

With Lectron, polishing with Scotch-Brite pad is ok and recommended by them for any similar issues

I'm sure you do but I whack a heap of oil, 2t or tranny whatever is closest, on slide if it comes out. Never stuck but don't get that cold here either

Cant see how a little bit of water getting through the filter can stick a slide unless it freezes, Yes if there is grit getting through its gonna stick.
My lectrons are ploughing through this every time I go out here in our rather damp UK weather and the filters get soaked but still have never tried to stick once, If you pull the filter you can actually see the water in the carb to airbox boot and damp on the slide but the bikes never miss a beat .

Thats not a creek Robert ! Thats a good old UK flooded byway or green lane as they are so named, No deviating from the given track, you either have to ride through it or turn round and go home or your breaking the law. To make matters worse all the 4x4s are also legal to drive along them leaving huge deep wheel tracks under the murk that can and will swallow your bike lol.
