Got my 1971 250 to start…but when you crack the throttle it bogs…won’t accelerate as it should.
so is it an ignition timing problem? Bike starts easily. Carb jetting issue? Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. EZ IMG_0674.jpeg

Take the air filter out and see what happens.

Pilot jet is plugged. This jet is very small so its easy for debris to plug it. Also, its the jet that controls the idle and affects the first crack of the throttle. Cleaning can be as easy as clearing it with compressed air or as involved as soaking it in carb cleaner.

If theres a problem with bogging after the RPM raises above idle then the main jet and/or needle jet most likely have debris in them.
