I believe there are many outlets for Italian red Husky WR/CR250/300 parts. those bikes (Cagivas basically) have many years of the same and similar parts (little change over the years). Ask Ajax he is a Nat level (ammie) competitor and swears by his Italian Husky 2 strokes . I assumed you are talking 2 strokes correct?
I dont really break much but dont wanna get roped into a bike and no parts.... and yes 2 strokes only..... Found a 250 with rekluse for 2500 and a 300 with a 6 speed for 3000
Rode Ajax's ZipTy Racing Wr(CR300) with Ohlins at the 2013 Nat H&H final in 50A, Ajax's bike is so freakin dialed its all you would want from a hardcore offroad bike, super Ohlins suspension ($$) but as far as the bike itself flawless with good ergos virtually stall free, smooth as glass engine, and electric power form 0 rpm to pipen it mode, I was way amazed at how the "old school" bike felt so nice. A bit softly sprung for my tank arse weight unlike the lean mean Ajax carcass, all else spot on with only a small ergo adjustment at the bars.
I have never had a problem getting any Husky 2 stroke part I want Call Jeff at Halls Husky at 217 789-0107 Also wait till you see my new 2015 Husky Grapic from Matt at Avik My old bike will look like a new 2015 hopefully by tomorrow
I really like the "feel" of the italians over the KTM..... but at what point is it worth 6 grand more.... if I cant get parts yes.... but if Halls isnt having problems then thats fine....
Missed two races waiting for Halls to send the right parts. Two other guys I race with and I had a talk about this today. Spare parts can be hit and miss. My 03 kdx that's out of production since 06 is easyer to get spares for.
In four years of beating up my 09 300 with approximately 3k trail miles only parts i needed where bearings all around, top end, misc plastics and break pads. All redily available on ebay with cross over from many years of mfging other similair bikes. Been most reliable best bike i ever owned. You wont get the latest coolest options like the newest rekluse and such but really thats the only setback. If i had room id get another.
I have a 02 CR250 husky decked for woods. It was my main bike for a good while and still in rotation. Never had issues getting parts and many are the same as the newer bikes. These bikes have a long lineage and lots of crossover. I also snag items off eBay and hoard them as necessary. Not a big deal. I really like how those bikes work so slightly more effort does not bother me.
Great bikes! I prefer the '00-'05 (US didn't get '05 2T bikes) ergonomics, over the '06 and up 250 and then 300's.
im still stuck in the 95-99 style...damn thats my newest bike! i think im needing to add a newer italian!
Hell at that price even if it took a shit and you couldn't find parts that pretty much the difference between a leftover ktm/husky and current year. Not much of a loss for you. Hell if people do have to search for parts it may be worth that much parted out anyway. With all that being said, Hall's has been great for the random things i needed.
I would really like to know what parts that you could not get from Halls for a Husky 2 stroke Since 2006 there has only been 1 part I had trouble finding and that was 5th gear in a 2006 Wr 250 Got a used one from Bills in Wash. just last year Jeff had a brand new still in the box complet 2003 CR electronics that I got as a spare for my WR/CR 300 Which is still working fine
The husky 250-300 two stroke may be dated. But wow for a durable design.....I really loved my 1996 250,wxe. Big tank low seat height six speed if I remember correctl . Sweet right side up marzocchi fork.... And low seat height!!! Some parts I am told by halls are trickling in at a slower rate then they like....I may pick up some red to pick on my chapter three!lol
Ok, right radiator, full motor gasket kit, full motor seal kit, water pump gasket, right lower rad shroud ,seal kit for shock and reed cage. All for a 2013 wr125 Would you also like to know what parts were shipped express wrong ? Yes they make it right, after I send them pictures next Tuesday when they open again.Would you like to know the number of times I have called other Husky dealers and heard the words "back order". The first post was asking if Husky parts are hard to get and my answer is yes. Spare parts are at best a moving target. Hall's is better than other Husky dealers, but i can do better on E-Bay and they have told me to use the GPI radiators from E-Bay or UFO lower Radiator shrouds. Yes I found that I have to be "resourceful" to keep this bike on the track unlike the other five brands I own. This is the only brand I cannot turn on my phone after the race and order something from the cab of my truck on Sunday and have it at the house on Tuesday. In this day and age that's a given, this includes my 1978 TT500 flat track bike. Come to think of it I should check on the order I placed at the local KTM dealer back in October. Myself and a few other red Husky guys placed a large order to make the 500$ so we would not have to pay any extra all of it was back ordered with no date to ship. Its to bad as I really enjoy the bike.
Other than a short delay on an oem rod kit(aftermarket kits were available)In the 5 years I've had my wr250 I have never had an issue getting parts.I call my dealer and either have him ship them or I drive about an hour to go get them.
