Check out KTM building across the parking lot, reflecting in the glass doorway of Husky HQ... How fitting!
They must have made everyone stay late for this photo OP .... or did someone forget to say 'cheese'? Either that or the glare from across the street is hurting everyones' head.
Jason has "The Ring" in his pocket and they are so close to Mordor...... Actually... Everyone was a little uncomfortable, when Jon-Erik made another... "No more pasta bikes" comment. Happier shot...
Boom. Just over a year and KTM is bringing Husqvarna to the top level of racing and Media/TV exposure in both Europe and the United States. That's something that the previous few investors weren't able to accomplish.
At this point in the long history of Husqvarna, ktm's CEO buying the brand is one of the best things that could have happened. Husky will now have top riders, great bikes, and more exposure in the media due to WINNING. When was the last time you saw husky win a race before SP bought them? I couldn't tell you if you put a gun to my head, heck most guys at the local mx track don't even know what kind of bike I'm riding when I pull up, but everyone knows a ktm, and now the will all know a husky. Now I have no doubt that someone here will disagree with me, and that's fine. However, their is one undeniable fact and that is the husky brand is now in the best scenario its been in a long long time.
You may not have heard of the Enduro World Championship that is run throughout Europe, from 2010 to 2013 the Italian Huskys won heaps of races and 4 championships! With top riders like Juha Salminen, Antione Meo and Matty Phillips. As far as I'm concerned Husqvarna is just carry on winning like they did in the EWC, prior to SP''s ownership. Here's some results. In 2010 Antione Meo won the E1 championship on his TE 250 In 2011 Juha Salminen won the E1 championship on his TE 250, Antione Meo won the E2 championship on his TE 310 In 2012 Matty Phillips won the EJ championship on his TE 310 Between those three Husqvarna won a hell of a lot of races, so I guess that's the last time Husqvarna won races before SP bought them.
You are right, and yes I am aware of those championships, and what did Meo do right after winning? He took his number one plate straight to KTM. But I was talking about MX races or Supercross races. Those races get the most attention. You have more spectators at a supercross or national mx race then at the Enduro, but you are right husky did well in the world enduro scene.
