I found this interview .. It's short and sweet ... This guy sounds like his head is on straight and is just another golden example of a honest, hardworking young American Welch, who is going forward in life ... Good luck Mr. Thomas and keep it up. http://www.motoxaddicts.com/2015/05/04/jason-thomas-the-final-countdown/
He's Welsh, actually. But yeah, good guy. I took a Dirtwise riding school with him a couple summers ago. It's nice to see him doing so well in GNCC this season.
Jason is a great guy and awesome rider. I was a little down on him a few years ago, when he bailed on Fred Andrews and FAR Husky Team. He wasn't really being straight with Fred, saying he was quitting GNCC and going back to the UK and then showing up at the next race on a KTM. His team mate Andrew Delong proved a life long KTM rider, could win on theHusky X-Lite though. It was a complicated set of circumstances, as I found out later. I'm rooting for him!
Score one for the Welch! NF, I was basing alot of what I said off his words and I've never read any bad headlines like so many of the other glamor-sport guys ... Everyone can live their lives as they please but the sports owners of lots of teams condone a little too with the unlawfulness of too many employees maybe and this allows the media to have a field-day at setting a bad example for our youth ... If the military taught me nothing else, lots of kids came into the service straight from home and we looking for and needed supervision... If they had a decent NCO, they would be a good soldier in most cases...crap NCO in charge and results were usually the opposite. The dirt biking racing \ riding business needs to grow as any other business but not to the extent we turn into a side-show for general public viewing. PS -- He was hauling the mail in that video ... I'm finally learning to use whatever is around for a berm like JT was showing there ... I'd like to watch more videos of guys like him hauling it in the woods ...
