I build this for the Dakar rally, but i never got enough money to ride it. I was stupid enough to sell it a few years ago. I heard the tuned engine is i an card now, and the rest is scrapped. I am an idiot...
And who else has sold one they wish they had kept? I’d like to have the 1973 Hodaka Super Rat back in my garage!
If you want one I have one that I started full restoration on last year. I will let her go for $400.00. She needs a first over piston rims and spokes.
If i want one i am better of buying one in the Netherlands. Buying from the USA means paying BPM which is a tax for importing vehicles, and they count the original new price which means the BPM is about twice your selling price. Ofcoarse this is ex. 21% BTW which is the dutch VAT. So basically pay tax over tax, welcome in Holland. Then i have to pay transportation which wil be again about your price. Again ex. BTW of 21%. I have to pay the customs costs, and.... yes... you guessed it, ex. BTW, 21%. The price i really pay for this bike will be about 2500-3000 euro's, which is about 2800-3400 US dollar. Oh, i forgot, the US papers don't go well here, the motorcycle need to be re-inspected which is about 300 dollar, and eeh, do i need to tell about that 21% again? And because of this, the production year will be set at 2024 and i pay road-use-tax and insurance for a brand new motorcycle. ex.... you know it..... A good one here cost 1800-2300 us dollar.
