Replaced my stock countershaft sprocket this evening with a 15t JT sprocket. Once torqued and chain adjusted, I gave the wheel a spin to check everything out. I noticed it makes way too much noise...sounds like the chain is hitting the case, although once I removed the sprocket I couldn't see any marks on the case from rubbing. Anyone else have issues installing a JT sprocket? View: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umaXefXbEJw&feature=youtu.be
Look at the lower mounting bolt ( chain hitting the tip ) for the foot peg. You might have the sprocket flipped the wrong way . Can't remember which way it goes.
I checked this morning, and the footpeg mounting bolt was protruding just enough to make contact with the link pins. Is the flange supposed to face toward the case, or to the outside? The sprocket I removed (installed by previous owner) had the flange facing inward.
After googling 650 Rotax images, I confirmed that the flange was supposed to face inward. Flipped the sprocket and all is well. Now for a test ride... Thanks for the assistance!
I can confirm you have the off-set round the wrong way. I recently put JT's on F & R and no problems.
