On the advise of Kelly and Carl I went to test ride a TXC250 and just signed on a TE250.

The TXC ripped and felt much better than the 07TE250 I last rode. It was a little loud though.

Getting real tires put on and a set of hanguards.

I've asked them to derestrict it set the EFI and check the waterpump bolt.

What else shoud they do before I pick it up.

They are delivering it with a plate and inspection ready to go!

    Thanks

Awesome, I hope you love it. Huskys are some of the most enjoyable bikes to ride.

I'm sure I will. The only thing that gives me pause is the 1st yr motor.

The fact tht it is much smaller suggests that the components may be a little more stressed. I also, notice the clutch looks a little on the small side.

    Anyway:

My test ride on the TXC showed it much faster reving then the old bike. It needs a little clutch on the bottom end and it will not rev to zero like my WR250. Weighs about the same as my WR250 but is much more compact. The front wheel feels much more planted and I can see it turns much better than any other husky...even my 02 WR125. Seat height is a bit lower than the WR's too. Can't imagine wanting any more power. The EFI did not keep it from pop stalling if I dithered the throttle like a 2 stroke. Gotta be careful there.

I need to sign up for the Husky contingiency for next year!

Yes also get a mid pipe carbon guard from P3 as you will hole out a pair of pants per ride.

We also insulated the wires on the left side of the motor to protect from the pipe coming over to the left side..There is a clamp but wrapping it with Moose heat backing material and the sstie wraps keeps things better then a tree grabing it and having a melt down.

Unless you want to buy a special 21 mm hex socket get a Zipty racing front axle nut and it allows you to do a 3/8th drive ratchet in it for ease of tire changes.

If your into faster rear brake pad changes or the safety of not losing the clips we opted to do the ktm hardparts rear quick change pin and safetywired that up

For riders that want a front disc cover a Cycra cover from a 2005 Yz 250 cover will fit using one of the fork shield bolts and a "L" bracket off the pinch bolt. (covers disc but not the caliper) I may be selling this bracket for this install if I see the need from the industry.

    Hope it helps..

    Carl,

Are you talking about that silver backed material you put on inner plastic by the side plates? You wrap that around the wires?

Which P3 guard? The one in back? I see it already comes with that little aluminum guard.

    Do you have an I-beat?

    Thanks

    Rich
