Found some really nice price here: http://www.extremesupply.com/category/ATV-Helmets-Kali.html But then found this place with some serious closeouts: http://www.leftlanesports.com/Search.aspx?k=kali I used paypal and my platinum visa card for protection and got a closeout Kali Prana helmet for $95! I would have went carbon for @ $170, but they were all black and I want white for summer. You have to become a "member" to check out so I expect a bunch of spam and the helmets are old colors, but I don't care.
If you don't know about Kali, they make light fiberglass and carbon helmets with high tech liners: http://www.kaliprotectives.com/products/powersports/motocross/
Yeah, can't beat the price. I saw a few other similar deals on them, but all XL and I need SM. Current versions are mostly $250. Glad someone else has one and likes it, great reviews, so looking forward to it.
Claimed weight for the Prana FRP is 1250 grams! Hopefully it arrives tomorrow and I'll weigh it with my new dig scale
Left lane sports website doesn't work for me... Gutted been after a Kali for two years no one imports the MX helmets here. A close out lid would of been normal cost by time postage is added but so worth it. I would of gone with Shiva tho as I've got a small head and require smaller helmets. Currently the airoh running man is fine but kali have been in my sights.. NC Steve fancy bouncing one over?
Juicy, can't believe US site's can't ship it you? Hell, give velogear.com.au an email and ask the cost to post to the UK from Australia...bloody hell you should've picked one up whilst you were here!!
Yeah I did mean to go to MX shop but I was doing serious kilometres. Like 9k in under a month. Not much time for taking me an the 4 girls to bike shops lol. They will ship but I can't access the left lane sports store may of ceased already. The added cost of shipping and then import fees bumps the cost of things up so would have to be a cracking deal.
Seems there's a few left: http://www.leftlanesports.com/Search.aspx?k=kali May have to become a member to search There's a Prana Carbon in SM for $169 and a Prana FRP in black w/green and yellow splash for $95. Small is 55-56cm Medium is 57-58cm. Pick one and I'll send it to ya mate
All the links above work for me without a login. The first one has more choices but $161 instead of $95. I got this one in white and the black one is $95 at Leftlane in size SM: http://www.extremesupply.com/product/ATV-Helmets-Kali/kali-protectives-helmet-prana-frp-torn.html
Ooops, you're right. Switched browsers and the leftlane links don't work. Got to join to search, I get an email a day with deals from them.
Really after the Shiva, smaller helmet the better. View: https://youtu.be/QUDjyKylkwE as stated in video the smaller the size the less the leverage on your neck in an accident. Really tempted by the offer NC Steve. Top bloke but will hold out for kali shiva or a soumoy Mr jump
update: received the Kali helmet and it's very nice, just as described: light, well made, with padded case, typical helmet bag and extra cheekpads. Unfortunately sz SM is too small for me, so I ordered another in Medium. My head measures 57mm which is between sizes. I like to wear a sweat beenie anyway and think I can add 1 mm of something if necessary. Once I'm sure the Med fits I'll sell the small for what I paid for it, $95. PM me if interested.
Okay, sz SM is for sale. Med with a sweat beanie and the included smaller cheek pads fits well. Great deal on a very light fiberglass helmet with great safety features. I only tried it on, didn't use it. $95 + shipping, PM me if interested.
you guys might want to check the specs on those. Husky had helmets built exclusively for them by AGV but were not DOT approved. so were never sold here in the states. they were ultra light. which may b the reason... food for thought.
Thanks for the info. From what I've seen, Kali stresses their helmets are DOT and ECE approved. I also have an AGV AX-8 Evo, nice helmet, DOT and ECE approved, weighs @ 1340gr. On my cheapo new dig scale the Kali weighs @ 1280gr. Even the Med is a very snug fit, doesn't move around at all, very comfortable when riding and even walking around. I guess it feels a little better than the AGV which took a few rides to loosen up a little and feel good to me. I'm happy with the deal and the sz SM is sold
Well, I could have returned it for up to 90 days, but thought someone would want it. Am I missing something? It seems all Airoh has is light weight, no advanced safety features Seems to me, if going with a extra light weight helmet, it damn well better have some seriously good padding to compensate. Last thing I need is dain bramage
