Here on Cafe Husky I have read a fair bit about the Keihin/Mikuni conversion & it sounds like a really good option for 2t owners.

I have a Husky 1996 WR125 with a Mikuni TM 35mm that I would like to improve on, especially the bottom end. Needles & jets are harder to come by for the TM's & it's old technology, so I am thinking of going to swap to the Keihin. I'd like to find out which type (PWK or PWM) & what size is best suited for this bike.

    1. Which would work the best a 36mm or a 38mm on a '96 125?
    2. What about a 39mm?:excuseme:
    3. Are the 36mm better suited to the 125's & the 38/39mm better suited to 250/300's? Or can you tune the 36/38/39mm for the same characteristics?
    4. How close does the PWK gets to the crankcase on the '04-'10 125's?
    5. Why would you use a PWK over a PWM or vica versa? Is it physical size?
    6. Do the PWK & the PWM pull the same through the rev range?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Skip the PWM. It is mid and top carb with only minimal adjustment available on the bottom. I would put a 36 mm PWK on it and have fun.

thanks AUSKY for posting some of the same questions I have had.

I have an 04 cr125 coming soon and was wondering what size pwk to put on it. I hated the mikuni on my 09 300.

I am currently running the 38 on my wr300 and love it-ran great today at little naches. A buddy and I were riding and clearing trails this afternoon and it was fantastic!

Sounds like I am putting the 36 on unless I hear different.

Probably be spending some more money and time drooling over the stuff at motorsportz for this new toy.
