Kinda ticks me off. Go to the dealer to buy a 09 Wr125. Plus I have $300 in it to get the thing to run right without a bog that Husqvarna should have fixed. The following month they drop the price $1000, now the 150 comes out. The bike is now worth $(very little)? If I would have known that, I would of waited for a 150. So now looks like I have to stick more money in it to make it a 144 or it's worthless because everyone will be going after the 150.

    Your thoughts?

No regrets here! I dreamed of this bike from the first minute I rode an '08 TXC250... 125 2 stroke in the new style frame, killer bike I thought!

I ordered mine before they were here in '09. I did get a pleasant suprise when the the "Husky Heros Deals" kicked in and gave me an extra $1000 off. The updated parts (pipe, head stay and PV's) took a long time to come (6 months), but my bike ran well without them. The TMX worked pretty well on my bike and could have lived without it. 144 kit is the icing on the cake. I'm glad I held out for the Factory one and didn't go Eric Gorr.... nicer piece!

You can't buy a Husky with the thought of selling it and what it's worth from the minute you sign the papers... you buy it to ride it! I don't sell a Husky until the age of the bike brings the price into line with any other bike.

Only lesson... I might not buy a first year bike again, as there were some developement issues I didn't expect.

Gotta agree with you Norm. I was thinking of buying a new bike every year. So do you just spend $800 more for the 144 kit and keep the bike for 3-4 years?

I think if you buy a new bike every year, a more mainstream vanilla brand might make sense. I ride alot (300+ hrs a year), so my bikes are usually worthless after a couple years. i'd stop worrying about it and go ride.

    spot on.

    - Sales have to have a start date and thats that. Sometimes you get the sale sometime you buy something right before it goes on sale. Thats the way it goes. After we all sorted it out really all the bike needs is the powervalve adjustment on the arm slot. the rest is just dialing it in like you have to do on any bike. My buddy Shane has an pretty much stock 09 WR125 with the PV arm adjusted and still running the TMX and it is a very good bike as is.

I bought my 09 wr125 three weeks before the 150 was anounced - talk about bad timing! But I love to tinker and have already installed the 144 kit so I guess it is all good.

I never pay attention to pricing after I buy something and this is why. It rarely turns out in your favor, especially with expensive power toys.

I'd be pissed about the $300 to make it run right, but the rest was out of your control. If you want a 144 then send the jug out and have one built however you want it to run for $550-600. Or just keep it all original and it might be worth something to a collector one day as real 125's are being phased out with big bore versions.

I also dont worry about resale value as I rarely part with bikes. I get attached to them and cant bear to see them go. Especially when I think about the time, effort and money I put into it that someone else gets to enjoy now. NOT! :foul:

Other models have the same issues. 08 and 09 TE, TC and TXC 250's were the older style and heavier models. Now a truly lightweight 250 is available, that's MORE powerful. Instead I'll go with just putting the 300 kit on my 08 TE 250. I know it will keep my interest for a while.

I stopped by GOAZ Saturday and asked about the cost and availability of the CR125. No answer yet. Has the price on existing CR/WR 125's been dropped by $1000?

I bought mine lightly used last november for what I thought was a very good price, now you can get a leftover 09 for just a little more than what I paid. But I am not complaining, I love the bike, and if we all waited around for the perfect deal, none of us would have bikes! As far as the new 150, maybe someday, but I got a 125 to have a 125, and if we keep putting bigger parts on them, might as well have a 200 or 250. Then again, I only weigh 165.

    Norman, Kelly, PC, et all,

You nailed it. I don't regret buying my WR125 pre-release of the 150. I actually love the futzing to make it what it is today. Am I out more than if I had waited :excuseme: I don't look at it that way. I look at all expenditures as a learning experience and when it involves your favorite pastime it is a labor and spending of love. My 144 absolutely rips everywhere and I couldn't ask for more, but yet I have a 167 kit coming from George at Uptite in the next week or so and I am giddy as a kid on the nite before Christmas. Will it be better than my current 144, who cares it will be different and it will be something new to massage into my idea of perfection.

As far as resale....you would have to actually sell one to worry about it and unless one of my other nephews goes bonkers, I will take the 09 to the grave. My idea of a burial.....My ashes next to an assortment of bikes to keep them company. Of course they will actually find new homes then but I won't know any better.

The story of my life dude. I can shop for a year looking for a bargin and 30 days after I buy I'll find a better deal.

I tried to get them to through a tow bar in on my truck, no dice. The next week they had an add, "buy a truck and get a free tow bar". I called, but it didn't do any good.

BTW- If I buy a stock you already own, sell yours ASAP.

You guys nailed it. If the price was right at the time and you were happy at the time end of story. You cant be a monday morning quaterback on all of your bike related purchases. it would be a negative in an otherwise very positive time for you. Go out and ride the little bugger, I hear they are a gem to play with.

Our WR125 has 68 hours with only a set of rings, handguards, PV adjusted, some minor jetting to the stock carb, and soon a new fork seal.

The '09s have the CC forks, and were out way before the new 150. If I had to do it again I would definitely not wait for a 150. The 125 is great as is. It made my wife a better rider, and me a more excited rider.

Ride it, enjoy it. Buy a 167 kit after Walt does all the testing! Then Husky will come out with a WR200 and we will start all over again.
