125-200cc Knocking sound when slowing down

    My wr125 has a new piston and ring and the cylinder has been polished.
    When i slow down the bike by shifting down gear, knocking sounds came from the engine, this makes engine braking not smooth as usual. Should i change cylinder? Or get a slightly bigger piston in the market or ...

    You said you have a new piston and ring for the bike? Where did this piston come from and was it not the right size?

    Maybe you should check the clearance between the piston and the cylinder wall. you will need to know the manufacturer's specifications. If you don't know how to do this properly, have somebody who does know how do it for you. I'll bet that there probably isn't more than about two thousandths clearance required for such a small bore.

    is this a mechanical knock or a ping/spark knock?

    check your chain for excess play, it can cause a slapping on the buffers/block.

    maybe your bike is running on- too lean on the slow circuit. reverify your pilot jet, maybe go up one and re-verify starting with the air screw 1.5 turns out.

    the symptoms are kinda vauge so i'm reaching here...sorry. hard to diagnose a random noise over the 'puter.
