How is the EFI going to be better than the metering rod?!

EFI can also have the benefit of variable oil ratio's. We have absolutely no need for 50:1 at idle and low RPM. All its doing its wasting both oil and fuel with a less powerful burn. We could get away with around 250:1 or even turn the oil injection off completely
A metering rod can't do that. EFI gives the theoretical benefit (since they may not bother with a seperate oil tank) of having optimal oil ratio's. Meaning absolutely zero visible smoke from 2 strokes from then on. No more spooge, no more gunked up powervalves and pipes. You can also go richer or leaner at cruising operation to further save on fuel and make the bike smoother

direct injection into the chamber( not the so called "direct injection" that everyone calls any efi 2 stroke) has huge benefits for petrol consumption and exhaust emissions .as no raw fuel blows straight out the exhaust port . inject the fuel after the port has closed
i guess it could make more power aswell because the petrol that used to occupy some space during intake is no longer there so you could get more air in per revolution aswell

not sure how you lube the bottom end and cool the piston tho .

guess you could inject oil to the lower bearings etc and let it vaporize around

Neither can EFI that's a oil system separate from EFI and would/could be a benefit on any bike carb or EFI. The new beta x-trainer has oil injection / carb.

    bingo

down side is drastically complicates 2 strokes and needs a high pressure pump.

if you blow up the pixs and look close theres some parts that aren't familiar to me i see what looks like the motor for a pump and that is not a carb it would be a real pot stirrer if one of the big 4 pulled the trigger on that i bet they do:banana:

I was excited seeing the title, then disappointed with the thread's blatant temptation (police call that solicitation... doctors calls it blue balls). If we were on the playground, I'd give you a wedgie and make you do three laps on the trails you ride with your WR165.

Yeah, like a DEFCON 1 - launch all the silo and naval nukes, activate the Star Wars death ray, and top it off with the fleas of a thousand camels - nuclear wedgie. Over the head and back around the wedding tackle wedgie!

I'm going to be looking at a different 2T for trail riding by next year, so I need to know what is out there and how much so I can start saving, and we get a Washington State crackpot feeding mistruths on the interweb (first time ever, I'm sure), tempting innocent, charming, and delicate youths such as myself with suggestions of 2T Kawi's! My Momma warned me about dudes like him!

YZ250X, SWM developed Italian Husky era 2T's coming back, Sherco's, Beta's, more and more 2T choices and now this Kawi 2T idea?!?! What's going on?.... is it 1990 again?
