showed up with the crew to our local zone, my crew 3KTM me 1Hus saw one 04TC450 an 06TE250 and an 08TE250, did a little follow along with the TE guys just to hear the F.I. bike and its on off throttle sound, they were just trail punters but I got a good feeling for how the TE "carburates" he had the PU set up and she ran very clean, nice. Ran into some other local guys I know and got to ride another Montesa 4stroke Trials machine,,one of those is definitley on the bucket list!!! Happy Easter
At the last local enduro I saw a lot more Huskys than usual. I bet their contingency program is helping spread the word.
Hi Robert, I am one of the "trail punters" to which you are referring. My friend Mike and I ride at McCain about once a month. We may not be enduro gods, but we enjoy riding at our skill levels, we appreciate the quality machines that we own. We also enjoy talking with other Husky riders as they seem to be nice, friendly people. Perhaps in the future, you will treat other Cafe Husky members with a bit more respect, and not dismiss them as "just trail punters" Ken
I can understand how one might take it wrong but I'm sure Robert meant nothing derogatory,he is a very nice guy and if you ride McCain regularly you might enjoy getting together with him for a days rides.
guys its by no means derogatory,,its what the aussie mags call all trail riders. I am mostly just a trail punter,,goofing off and cruising around. This is why sometimes I am careful how things get worded around here, no offense given, I am sorry for offense taken,,(my wording does sound negative now that I reread, unintentional I assure you) FI will most likely be on my next machine.
Thanks Robert for the response. I just got back into riding two years ago. Last time I rode a dirt bike, was when I was 14. I took some lessons, asked a lot of questions, and am improving my skills every time I ride. My buddy, Mike, who has been riding dirt bikes for 35+ years, got me back into the sport. He can ride rings around me, but he sets a nice even pace, encourages me, and we have a blast. Our main objectives are to enjoy the ride, and get back in one piece for work on Monday. On a tech note, I just installed an EFM autoclutch on my 08 TE250, and it really has helped me in the tight, rocky sections. I went up some stuff on Saturday that would have thrown me for a loop 1 month ago. Later, Ken "Just a trail punter" and proud of it!
Hi Ken, Welcome to the forum I have rode McCain a couple of times now with Robert...... He is one of the best members on this forum, a fellow Marine and helpfull to all. It looks like you will be one and the same! It is good to hear that you are back into riding and starting to put in some serious seat time .... as you can tell Robert is a stand up guy....as most all of us here are..... next time you are out there and you two see each other, take some time to introduce yourselves..... Robert has taught me a lot in the short time that I have known him.....I've learned how easy it is to crash test all of my gear riding and trying to keep up to him !!! T
Haven't had the pleasure of riding with Robertaccio yet, but we ride at the same place a lot. He has had lots of helpful tips to give me for my TE and I am sure I am just a little "trail punter" myself.
All clear,,,thanks all how about another all Husky ride in the near future, we always head there as it is close and mostly kid friendly
Brilliant!!! anyone on board??? will have a "kids" weekend this weekend, planning on coming up sat and staying over til sun, drop a line, R
I get the TE saddle back from Gutsracing this week, so I can go soon. Planning a Pinnacles ride this Sunday, but could ride some on Saturday maybe.
just look for the Brux racing fun hauler moto-home or for my wht ford pu with shell, we should be stationed in the day use zone off to the side (usually south side) of theday use valley area .
Hey Robert, I'm off this Friday and Saturday. You gonna be in McCain on Saturday? If so, count me in for a day ride. My work partner Ed and i rode from my casa to Tecate and back. trying to break in some single track for folks later on. I think we can make a killer single track form tecate back to the east, with the border road as a dump off for folks who get tired. We could make a day of wearing in a single track line one of these days (AKA: Tecate style). Mitch. Sounds like we could get a nice group of Husky folks to join us as well.
