What the hell secures or retains the outer of the throttle cable to the carb?
The mikuni had a retainer built into the carb lid, this lectron has nothing to retain it (but I could being retarded)?
At the moment if the cable got snagged on something the bike would go full throttle...

Help, I wanna ride this thing tomorrow..

hahahaha - I dont know mate sorry
sounds a bit like the Keihin -
    search the lectron threads
Can you use the one from the mikuni?
Got the 165 eh ? Id run it with the mikuni first at least then you can make a comparison to Lectron
and will know where you are with jetting - may need slightly leaner jetting
Id go with smallest pilot jet you have and leave main as it is to start off

Haha, nah 165 and lectron are both on... Fully assembled just started but it dies under revs.
Just got dark so can't tune it now. Do the keihins have a retainer for Tue throttle cable or just free at the top?
It's been in the shed for too long, it needs to be punished.

nah, at the moment if you grab the cable and pull it revs the bike up, i.e. like twisting the throttle...
on every other carb i've seen there is a retainer on the carb which secures the outer plastic of the throttle cable, to stop ^^^ that happening.
does everyone replace the cable as part of installing the lectron? is the stock cable not compatible or something?

I secured it by winding electrical tape over the steel bend and the outer cable.

primarily to seal it from water that could enter this way but also to make a fixed connection of the outer cable and the housing.

so far it holds and performs well.

to make it really nice I will re do it with heat shrink it simply seals and put it firm in place and will last.

There is a 90 degree cable that screws into the he carb top and several carb top options.
