Left side kick start position

    I can't find the post, but someone posted photos of their damaged case, the comments as I remember were attributed to the kick start position...and it was suggested that the kick starter 'engage' at the 3 o'clock position... well mine engages there but I don't like getting the small amount of actual 'starting engagement' I get.
    I think it should engage earlier so I can get a GOOD kick outta it & start..

    am I wrong?

    no, not really..hard to screw that one up, they usually work, or dont.

    Are you guys talking about winding up the kick start shaft in the case to 3:00 (clockwise) before you install the kicker and put the cover back on?

    LOL..Ron, yes thats exactly what we're talking about..I was concerned about it on my '71...
