Truth is always stranger than fiction....whats the stupidest, most unbelievable thing thats happened to you on a dirtbike..[mx, enduro, trail riding etc] and to start the ball rolling and to give you all a good laugh at my expense [maybe its just in the UK-but i'm betting its the same with all dirtriders the world over-to offer laughter instead of sympathy-when a mishap occurs!!]
I was out trailriding in Normandy, France on one of our foreign excursions, happily riding a typical tunnel trail [all the trees/hawthorn hedges have joined at the top-so you feel very much like your in a tunnel-sometimes they go a longway-soft loamy soil that we guess only the hogs use, superb-especially for wall of death type riding] anyway..with only about 1" gap on my arai tour-x visor open, a hanging bramble decided to say hello and gripped my top lip etc...and as i sped of totally unaware proceeded to dig in and rip [it feltlike] my face of!!! ok bit exaggerated but the inside of the visor looked like a "saw" movie.. blood everywhere, initially thought i'd been bee stung-and continued to race of...NOW you never suspect how strong a quarter inch vine is..until it stops a 250 2stroker!! Fauna 1 dirtbiker 0
so its ok to watch out for all the usual suspects when out on thr trail...but beware..even the plants are out to get you...once all the blood had been washed of, and there was a lot...a couple of tiny cuts remained..all my now less than concerned "buddies" took the pi** out of me at every opportunity by pointing at every overhang for my benefit for the rest of the ride...cheers mates!!
ps thats the pic of me [profile] just after it happened...nope didnt hurt a bit !! ha ha
    Anyone else??

I was racing a florida harescramble. I came out of the woods and went to crack the gas down a straight, and saw a bull standing there. I hit the brakes and went the other way. Come to find out it started chasing me. I bet I looked funny eventually going down the straight with a bull on my tail! When I went up to get my trophy I told everyone how I got sidetracked a little, and reason why. I said I had to put up with a lot of bullsh** to get this trophy. Here the bull got out of someones fence and got on the track! Glad I wasn't the only one that day that got a rude awakening! That trophy is one of my favorites!

Me and a friend where way the hell out in the middle of nowhere on some gravel roads and come around a corner and their is a run down old trailer truck combo with some older guy in maybe 40's with what looked to be two "wifes" or soemthing. These two young girls couldnt be over 16ish. Anyway they had this look I will never forget...it was like a worried "please tell someone we are here" type of look. I also noticed the guy gave us just a look of murder.
We rode down a couple miles and stopped. Talked about it and realized we where almost out of gas and had to go back the way we came. My friend was joking in a nervous way "you know...that guy could kill us and dump our bodies out here and nobody would ever know" We both put our helmets back on in unisom and without saying a word decided to haul @ss past where he was. Well rounding the corner my heart was racing and low and behold he was gone. We called the cops about it and they just blew us off. This was back around '88 before cell phones.

    Love it....dartyppyt
and you have reminded me of the "cow" in the road as i sped round a bend..hit the brakes, slid gracefully [ie. totally out of control] and ended up the grass bank...it just looked unimpressed and walked back into the field...not one of my mates saw the cow...so just wondered why i was 6foot up the bank!!
Its true what you say about "favourites" if theres a special memory attatched no matter where or if..you finish..they mean more!!

This is the best thing I've seen on a ride so far....We were out in the desert at the beginning of last summer. It was really hot and desolate, so we called it a day sort of early and headed back to our trucks. This thing was cruising along complete with music and bubbles coming out of it. Some members of our group mistook it for a very small ice cream truck at first. A UFO (unidentified foolish object) for sure. I guess the locals are bored.

It appeared in the distance amongst some of the dunes and humps....so yes, the top part was the first part we saw. Probably would have seemed more menacing without the cute music.
