In recent news. "Speedbrain" in Germany. Who has been famous for there BMW G450X inspired Chassis designs and Husky/Kymco 450 powered full on desert rally bikes. Has apparently dumped there big buck rally team deal with "Honda" riding the "450 Honda Rally edition bikes".

    That race program is done.....

The have signed a new deal with "heromotosports" (see links below) and will be back in action soon with there very successful full on Dakar style rally bikes they used to previously kick ass on in the worlds top tier events.

These bikes are inspired by the original BMW G450X style cradleless Chassis and are still being produced by them with the now TE449 engines or the G450X engines which they still also sell and offer as crate engines.

These are yes, The same Kymco based Husky 2011 thru 2013 TC/TXC/TE 449/511 or '2009-2010 BMW G450X 450cc engines. That are still being provided by BMW and are the production engines offered in the new "CCM 450 Adventure series, Dual Sport and Enduro bikes".

The "Kymco 450 Engine" lives on people. That's all good news for the owners of these bikes.

Hero MotoCorp Ltd (HMCL), the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, today forayed into the world of motorcycle rally racing by forming a strategic partnership with Speedbrain GmbH, the German off-road racing specialist. The newly formed ‘Hero MotoSports Team Rally’ will make its debut at the Merzouga Rally in Morocco later this month, a Dakar series race.

The team will be riding on the upgraded version of the successful Speedbrain 450 rally bike. The Merzouga Rally will be held from May 21 to 27 2016. The Hero MotoSports Team Rally will also participate in international rallies across the globe, leading up to the Dakar rally 2017.

Flying the new colours will be the riders CS Santosh and Joaquim Rodrigues.

Santosh, the off-road motorcycle star from India, has participated in several international rally events and is poised to make a mark in the global racing arena. His teammate ‘J-Rod’ from Portugal is a rookie in rally sport. However, being a former Motocross and Supercross factory pilot, he is extremely professional with strong determination to prove his talent. The team will be headed by Mr. Wolfgang Fischer, Managing Director, Speedbrain.

The Hero MotoSports Team Rally will be under the direct supervision of Dr. Markus Braunsperger, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Hero MotoCorp, and will work in close collaboration with his team at the Hero Centre of Innovation and Technology. The Hero MotoSports Team Rally will also assist in development and testing of new Hero vehicles concepts, using the data collected from the races.

Mr. Pawan Munjal, Chairman, MD and CEO, Hero MotoCorp Ltd., said, “In the recent past, we have rapidly expanded our global footprint and also made significant investments in enhancing our R&D capabilities. Motorsport is a natural progression for us, as it will allow us to bring value-added products with top-of-the-line technology for our millions of customers. This initiative is also reflective of our consistent support to sports and sportspersons. I welcome Santosh and Joaquim on board and wish them all the very best.”

Dr. Markus Braunsperger, Chief Technology Officer, Hero MotoCorp Ltd., said, “Hero products are known for their robustness, reliability and quality. as before and like many other brands they have private labled the machines. good for them. The 449/511 folks may now have a continuing source of supply for their bikes. Along with the possibility of Speedbrain mod parts if they work into retail......which I remember they did have some stuff for sale, maybe they will expand.....biz wise not really a option feeding expensive R&D parts to dead line of comsumer models.,

The Intellectual rights of the design of for the "Speedbrain" rear subframe large capacity fuel tanks for instance. Belong to "Bert Duursma' and "Frans Verhoeven" and many of the other exclusively available parts to do these conversions..
Like many of these other suppliers. Such as seats from "Blackbird Racing" and a few other manufactures of the navigation towers and front fairings.
We have them all directly membered up and have joined the "BMW G450X riders Forum and Registry". We have had these contacts to do full on rally conversions for quite awhile.
    Here is Berts, Post below.
We haven't had any problems with access to these parts on that forum with the help of these designers. Many have done the conversions.
Just thought I would mention these bikes are still winning and are still competitive.
parts for these Mods have always been out there. We made that happen.

May I introduce myself, I am Bert Duursma, former BMW Motorrad dealer (2000-2009). Since 2010 I run an offroad trainingacademy for GS riders. I am certified as BMW Offroad Instructor and run trainings in the Netherlands and in BMW Enduropark Hechlingen.

In 2009 Dutch Dakar rally ace Frans Verhoeven contacted me as he was interested to ride Dakar 2010 on a G450X.
A plan was made and sponsors attracted, main sponsor was BMW Netherlands. As the stock G450 wasn't suitable for Dakar, Frans and myself made a plan for converting the G450X into a competitive Dakar machine.
The idea for a single fueltank, close to the CoG of the bike came from Frans. It was my job to finance and manage the development project. To do this job, I hired ao Jos van Bergen to work on the prototype, make the moulds etc. He is a genius and did an excellent job, together with the tank manufacturer and a small company called Startwin where the drawings were made.
Dakar 2010 was the first time the tank was used. Because Frans Verhoeven won the 11th stage, a lot of interest was attracted. Soon after Dakar 2010, Frans and myself were invited by Speedbrain to discuss a Dakar project with involvement of BMW where "our" G450 concept would have to play a major role.
So it happened that the Speedbrain-BMW Dakar team used our kit in various rallies and also in Dakar 2011, with 4 riders (Frans Verhoeven, Goncalves and 2 others)
Speedbrain sold these rallykits all over the world. The kits were supplied to Speedbrain through my company. The intellectual property rights of the kit are with myself and Frans Verhoeven, the original investors in this project.
In 2012 Speedbrain pulled the plug, and production came to a halt.
Recently we received various orders for tankkits, so after 3 or 4 years of silence, we started up production again.[IMG]
