Just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem. It was my second ride on my brand new wr300, got back to my truck after a good 30min ride for a break, and no kickstand.

I almost lost mine once too. Luckily I caught it before it disappeared and replaced the OEM nut with a nylock nut. No issues since then.

Before I took my 310 out for a first ride two weeks ago I spent hours removing bolts and installing them with Loctite and a torque wrench. It was surprising to see what came off with only the smallest amount of pressure. Sorry about the kickstand.

I also installed a KTM kickstand rubberbandholderupperthingy (gear head tech talk) on mine to keep it from flopping around so much.

I had a mirror drop into my lap on the bike lately... Just lost the screw that joins it to the articulation.

My dealer George always looks at my bike when I drive it to the shop. He finds something once in a while and yes, kickstands are one thing he looks at and fixes quite often. Rear sprockets too.

If you dont want to buy a KTM strap...before they become OEM on Huskys hahah...make one out of a section of innertube ziptied onto your subframe. Works great. Whether or not you keep the pivot bolt tight, the sidestand will come down after bigger impacts and jumps and will be scraping down the trail like an elderly person sliding on the ice with their walker dragging behind them

i resmble that sound effect! :oldman:

    check yer sht people!

big thick 2T exhuast-type o-ring also makes a dandy kickstand holder upper. slip a key ring on it for a finger hole, or another smaller o-ring as a grab-tab et al. beats tearing up yer gloves. do i have to post pics for everything??? lol

ok K5, pics just for yoooooo...:p ive found the stands stay on longer if ya nut them on the back side and stake it with a punch and like ya guys said tie them up so they dont wag all the time and loosen the bolt. nail clippers work a treat for trimming zip-ties uber close so there's no razor waiting to slice yer hand in case ya gota huck the bike over something. normally i just yank the stand but peeps kept bitching about holding my bike when nature calls...whaaaah bummer hold this or the other thing... there's very little tension on this and the o-rings pretty stiff so the stand dont bounce and its really easy to get on there with a gloved hand. enjoy!

I safety wired my mounting bolt after reading this thread. I also safety wired the spring ends so they couldn't fall off. My kickstand sucks, but losing it would be a different story.
