    Dear gents,

I like to lower my Strada a bit so I can stand with flat feet and not on the ball of my foot like now.
I asked my dealer about the Kouba link but according to him this Kouba link touch the rear fork.

His advice was a "ring" at the backspring element, which makes the spring 2,5 cm (1 inch) lower. I already looked through the Kouba topic, but I could find the touching problem of the Kouba link and I could also not find the solution of the "ring" offered by my dealer.

To e the "ring" solution looks simple and ok and I have no idea about the Kouba link, but for me it also looks ok. There was even somebody who give me the tip of a seat concepts seat, so all in all it looks like there a minimum 3 solutions, which even might work in combination to get the "ultimate" result.

Does anybody have practical comment for this short legged Dutch biker ?

    Regards,

    John

I can't really invision what the "ring" thing is. could you give some detail?
I have the "Seat concepts low seat". much better comfort wise. I need to make a minor foam adjustment for my own needs.
If you lower it too much you need to shorten the side stand.

Is your dealer the Husqy dealer in Mechelen?
I heard exactly the same from him and I'm still not sure that he's right about the shock touching the swingarm with the lowering links.
Anyway, some good intel on the lowering links and the lowering ring in this topic:

Yes, I bought my Husky Strada from BWMotors in Mechelen. Bart seems to be a straight forward guy and I apriciate his advice

Thanks for the link in your post, the pictures gave me a good impression of that ring.
I think that the lowering ring is the most elegant solution anyway, technically and also optical.
Nobody will see it if it is installed.

Apart from touching the swingarm, which I did not read about yet.
The Kouba link is trying to be very flashy part with that terrible color, but that might just be my opinion.

Nothing a can of black paint can't fix.

I have the Koubalink, it is a great link.

I am by no means well versed in shocks and suspension, but my suspension guy told me if I increased my preload, the bike would not rattle so much in the dirt. He said the shocks need a certain amount of preload for the valving and such to perform optimally. I weight 135#s.

In some other topics the high speed wobble was talked about, and I thought preload was mentioned as a factor.

I have had BOTH Kouba links on the TR ( low and lower ones) and had NO part fouling issues at all. None.

Good to know there are no issues with the Kouba link and yeah it can be painted any color you like.
Thanks for clearing it out so clear.

I had a guy tear his dampening screw off installing the ring and we had to fix it,without proper tools installation is a disaster waiting to happen,no problems with Kouba links at all here and we have put a lot of them on.
