    Hi All

I saw the following New-Old-Stock side case for sale on ebay and thought I might like it as a spare for my XC500.

I was rather gob-smacked when it sold for £230. Did it belong / was bought by anyone here?

I'm guessing that the cases usually are not magnesium and that therefore this item is fairly special? It was listed as for an early '80s WR430, but reading the parts manual it seems to fit 1981 to 1984 air-cooled 250/430/500.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

It is a 510 -610 cover (90-91 with water pomp on head cylinder).
Between gearshaft and kickshaft near the edge there's a hole to screw the lever for automatic decompression.
The owner has drilled a hole to put a hose like 2 stroke cover.
But you can put on a 81-84 aircooled motor without problem.

looks like 86 air cooled 510 cover with the old style kicker catch. will work on many other 80's two strokes as well ,unless they have the newer style clutch basket with additional plates.

Hi guys, thanks for your answers. So it looks like the 4 stroke bikes had Mag cases then and this isn't particularly rare. Seems to have fetched a good price then!
