    Anyone going?

We're heading up to stay for a few weeks, arriving on Friday. Guess we'll be able to see the best riders on Sat. and Sun.

Interesting to see if any Husky's make the show.

It shows Ty Davis, Kevin Rookstool, Nick Burson, Gary Sutherlin as being in the 450 Pro class, so I guess we are good to go there.

Yea we will all be here. Ty raced this past weekend. He won the Senior Expert class and had a a couple top 5 finishes in the Vet Pro class. The rest of us will be racing this comming Friday and Sunday.

Went to the Sunday session. Tim Wiegand won the main event. Ty Davis didn't race as they had run out of parts to keep all the bikes going. Saw Gary Sutherlin do pretty well, maybe top 10 in the main...at least he was for around 1/2 the race. I think Rookstool's bike broke. Wife had never been to one before and she thought the starts were pretty fantastic, sound and action wise. We sat by the big jump and got a lot of flying bike vid.

Great venue and you can see nearly all the track from a few places.

Saw Nick race in the final. I'm just guessing he was back about halfway in the field at the end.

The other Zip Ty racer, Kevin Urquhart had a breakdown on the bike IIRC.

I think this track is only open for this 10 day period. It was nicely prepped and they really kept the action going till the last 3 Open races where they spent some time announcing riders etc.

Just the start of one moto. Husky rider in frame is #10, Gary Sutherlin, the guy to his right is Tim Weigand, who won the pro race that day. I screwed up on the film and as they took off I hit the button for pause....then punched it again to record but by then they'd hit the top of the hill. Wiegand got the hole shot.

They finally got all the results up from Mammoth

I would have sworn Timmy Weigand won it as he led nearly wire to wire. I found out today at the local garage where my car's being fixed that Weigand is training a kid named Tyler Sjoberg and Weigand let him finish first (he was only 3 seconds behind). Kawasaki picked the kid up as a sponsored rider that day.

I missed seeing how Ty Davis did but they said the bike he rode got the holeshot more often than not.

My little travail of car problems has worked out OK so far. Lost a water pump in Santa Clarita, about 2 hours out of Orange County. Just about a 4 hour delay to get it fixed. Then the thermostat or sending unit is acting up and before I know it the radiator itself is leaking. They're made of plastic and the guy said he was pretty surprised to see one last 13+ years. No problems here in Mammoth as the shuttles kind of take you around town and the Lakes Basin and I've got the bike and two bicycles.

The parade here is cool. One year a guy drove a white Bronco in the parade and the announcer said it was OJ. The driver work a nice Afro like Al Cowlings, OJ's buddy. Marching snow blowers like a doo dah parade, the Fire trucks spraying a little water on you, old cars, mules, you name it. About an hour at most.
