• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I did a one on one class with Marty in the early nineties (I was riding my KTM300EXC). He helped me get much better form in tight in and out turns, helped my offroad tight stuff game.

Passed by the property in the AM on way to our single track ride spot, then post ride the property gate was open.
Marty was there working on the tracks, he gave us the facility tour. We are in for a treat, the kids track is just perfect and layed out in the flat area of the property it flows and has dug out dips and very safe tables with nicely bermed wide corners(all man made). The Main track is both pro and vet friendly, he has at least 2 options for every line and even the bigger options are safe to over or under jump over (Marty Smith is a safe ride advocate). The main uses the natural terrain well which includes a nice hill and a drop in canyon, most of the twists and corners are bent around the natural oak trees arounds the hills and valley. It promises to be a safe, fun and close MX facility for the San Diego area. Not only vet friendly but enduro bike friendly.

Glad to hear that. I liked the old school style of the of the old track, and was afraid that maybe the new track would be a modern pogo cross track.

It is for sure "enduro" bike friendly and for sure the vintage guys will be just as happy with no mods to the main track, it's that natural.

faster guy (than my ...very slow MX track arse) on a Kato 2T.

For me the track did not flow well (even to connect the rollers psyched me out) and my soft/plush/trail and rock friendly suspension was taxed. I entered the track in the afternoon after a 2 hour AM technical trail ride to get a good muscle burn.
I dont know how many laps (alot-non stop) I did but I rode it like a race and just never stopped for the training aspect, saw many riders come and go (I got passed alot by the MX guys). I will go back again because when you ride into the uncomfort zone it always improves you and raises the bar even at 51!!! Happy birthday to me!! I could ride faster but I dont like the jump/risk factor even on those comparatively tame jumps and low doubles.

fast kid on a YAM 2T I am on this viddy on the right hand side up hill step up, rolling it slowly at 1:50
