The compression on damping on the TE630s forks is a bit stiff and I see several people with the 08 and 09 610s have retrofitted compression adjusters from older models. Is this possible with the 630s and if so where can they be purchased?
I believe the current 630 boingers are the same as the 610's? If so, I would highly reccomend having LTR or Aces re-valve and install the adjusters. After literally bashing about for over a year on the stockers (w/compression turned all the way out) I had mine revalved by Aces and it transformed the bike. cheers, Mike
+1 The $600 I spent on my suspension was the best money I have ever spent on a motorcycle. Once sorted for your weight you will never look back! Stu
did that 600 go towards the rear as well, or was that extra? where are these guys located, any in los angeles area any good?
I suspect that $600 would cover both ends, Les @ LTRacing is the go-to guy on your end of the world. Many great reports about his work on this site and others. http://www.lt-racing.com/ cheers, Mike
Les has done three bikes for me and if I ever get rich enough to buy another bike , he will most likely do a fourth. If you are a large person, the springs may be OK, which would save close to two hundred.
im about 190ish with gear on stock suspension and i get bounced around a little when im flogging it.... looking to settle things down quite a bit so i can flog harder thanks for the info.
Found a couple of suppliers of compression adjusters. $47 each. I guess I will wait till the snow flies and send the forks off for re-valving.
Anyone know if Les is on Vacation? Or maybe he does not answer email so regularly? I sent a message last week and no response.
I hope he isn't on vacation! He's got my suspension! He should be around as he just shipped my suspension out the other day. I would just give him a call since he's more of an "old school" guy and prefers the phone. Can't wait to test it out. Later
Any experience with www.racetech.com fork valve kits? Shipping forks for rebuild is real $$$$ from eastern Canada and the turn around will be at least a month. I can install the valve kit myself if suitable ones found. Also, anyone know stock front and rear spring rates for the TE630. Springs are stiff and need to know stock rates for comparison.
Robbie my suspension guy can turn around your forks in 48hrs if that helps you out and you dont have to deal with any customs issues.
