I was thinking about taking the stock ecu and using microsquirt. Does anyone know how the returnless system works? It looks like the fuel pump sees a constant voltage so does that mean it works by using the injectors? Or is there something in the throttle body I'm missing.

Nvm I think the regulation is done in the pump itself...that makes things easy

On the inside of the pump assembly mounting plate casting there is a spring loaded bypass valve that relieves excess fuel pressure above 40psi.

How well the the pressure is regulated and how much is varies from bike to bike I don't think is well known.

I may be possible that the microsquirt has a analog input that could be used to monitor fuel pressure and compensate injector timing.

Doing a microsquirt conversion sure would be an interesting and likely time consuming project. You would certainly be a lot smarter or insane in the end.:D
