MIXED RESULTS IN ITALIAN MX CHAMPIONSHIP On Sunday 27 March, in Odolo, the latest round of the Italian Motocross Championship took place, with Husqvarna team Ricci rider Alessandro Lupino being forced to pull out of the first race due to an electrical problem. This was a disappointment for Lupino, who had been second fastest in the timed practice in MX2 class. However, he was able to make amends in the second race by finishing in a respectable seventh place, despite having to slow his pace due to him not being in peak physical condition. His team-mate Michael Leib had scored a useful eighth place in the morning races, but did not race in the second leg, as he was still suffering from the effects of a crash and subsequent head injury sustained at the previous round in Faenza. After experiencing giddiness after 15 minutes of riding, his Team Manager decided that extra caution was necessary, so brought him back to the pits.Youngster Davide Bonini had a good race in Odolo in the Under 17-years-old 125cc class. The Team Jolly Cross rider from Varese made excellent starts to both his races and finished each of them in fourth place on his Husqvarna CR125.
