I recently dug out my Moose PaceMaker computer and installed it on my WR125.I had to use the stock Husky pick up lead because the original had cracked at the caliper mount. I ran thru the options for set up and everything is good "except" when the reading for "PICKUP" ON / OFF is prompted,it stays in off position! Any clues why this is or how to switch it over to ON ? I cannot locate a manual anywheres...it's been awhile since I've used it and although I suffer from CRS (Can'tRememberShit) I don't ever remember this function being in the OFF position. The magnet on the rotor is strong and I have the pick up adjusted 3 mm's away. Any clues?

    Thanx,

If you spin your front tire, it should flash over to on for a brief second when the magnet passes by. It is just a set up to test if your magnet is being read. Is your odometer working when you spin your tire? If so I would not worry about the Pickup read on/off.

..Nope...not reading anything..the counter/count down and everything related to time is ok .I read somewhere that someone set up with pick up 1/4" away...that can't be the answer..

Try swapping the wires with a test wire if they won't fit. For some reason I think I may have had a issue with the stock pick up and had to swap the wires that were mated up on the pick up. I know that makes no sense as it should not matter. Also check where the plastic thread thing that goes into the caliper, I have messed them up there where the two wires are bent over. My Pacemaker died a while back so I am trying to remember as well. While we are at it my last issue like this was the little magnet fell out of the EE one I had purchased. Looked like it was there but it was not. That's all I got!!

Yes, check the magnet and also one time I overtightened the plastic lock nuts and cracked the pickup. Couldn't tell till I "really" looked. I know the Husky pick up should work....well at least my 2007 TE450 one does. I actually "tapped" into the wire at the dash and ran both off one pickup. On my Wr144, I actually drilled and tapped the caliper mount and installed the moose pickup below the stock one.
BTW, I would be interested in buying any pacemakers if folks want to get rid of them. I especially need the bottom portion that has the mounts for the crossbar. PM me if anyone has extras!
seems no one can get anything from Fred Hoess on them.....supposedly he bought them out and they...disappeared....
