Just finished installing the Moose Racing Side Case Mounts. Overall, I really like them. VERY strong, fit my Wolfman Expedition bags very well and look pretty good. I installed with a Nomadic Cycle rear rack. My only complaint was that the fit was not that great. Right side fit well, left side took a lot of persuasion. The rack was designed to work with a stock rear rack, which I replaced with the Nomadic Rack. First thing I had to do was space for the removed rear rack. Fortunately between the 2 kits, I had the spacers. Installed the spacers, used the rack spacers to get the correct height. The left side was about 3/8 inch off (in below pic, look at where the spacer sits) After much bending, I got the rack into position. The Nomadic Rack then mounted on top. I had to get some longer bolts (Thank You McMaster Carr) Kit fasteners on left side A 1/4 spacer for the back, the rack fit beautifully. For the rear brace, it did not fit with my R&G Tail tidy, so I had to make some brackets to drop it down.
Link, I'm such a newbie at all this so I have to ask, Where do you suggest I look to find the side mount racks? I plan on using soft sidecases .. Wolfman or other. Also, what's the manufacture / distributor of the windshield you have mounted? Looks Good!
25yrWait, The racks I got from Revzilla (http://www.revzilla.com/adv-sport-touring-gear), good prices & great service. The windshield I got from Madstad (http://www.madstad.com/s.nl/sc.7/category.11365/.f) Put a lot of screens on Harley's, this one is by far one of the best screens I have ever installed. Plus it works! And looks good!
We have the same set up - nomadic rear rack and Moose racing. Mine also required a lot of bending and longer bolts.
