Thought i would start a new post with some Moab pix. These were from my Gopro in picture mode. This was a real EZ to ride area called Slickrock right outside Moab. Which way to go... Jake... Walt Colorado river
Some of the little lookout offshoot trials on slickrock are a little hairy. I can't wait to get back out there. Thanks for sharing. Brad.
Very nice! Totally different kind of riding compared to here...huh? When do we get to see some video?
When Jake posts it. He has it all and is working on it. We got 30gb of pix / vid. I don't see the difference in the riding area or...
dam that first pic is bada$$ i would love to ride that area i may have to put that on my todo list for this summer.
Kelly, I found the one place I wasn't sore was my biceps from getting whacked by trees. Can't wait for the Jake screening of the trip with vids and pics. There was some great stuff we viewed every nite. Of course we won't be able to view the quad rider comments. Walt
B. U. T.-ful scenery. Reminds me of that corny tv show in the 80's, Airwolf. They always had some cool snowy desert scenery even with the goofy action going on. Nevada or Utah? The snow really "pops" that sandstone.
Looks like we missed some good riding next day. I looked at the moab rim trail but it only showed about 8 miles. you must have been able to ad to it. There is a big loop on that side of the river that includes kane creek and pritchet canyon. Maybe next year. Chris
That's awesome! Damn do I want to go there someday. You got lucky with tech nerd Jake handling all the pix and vid. What a guy!
Chris, Moan Rim was fun at the bottom, lots of stepups. At the top Shane decided to see our snow skills and led us down a hill covered in about 6 inches of snow. Jake had a trials tire. there was about 20 minutes of intense pushing. When we got done with that fun we went back tot he truck, loaded up the bikes, left our gear on and headed for Cliffhanger down the road. Thats a trail you should not miss. Very cool, but short trail, that leads to this half circle rim trail that takes you along a 800 foot drop ridge with a killer view. Good stuff. Not much for pix there but some vid. We were more into riding that day than documenting. K
Doh! I'll be at the MXDN at the end of September, but I'm available any other time than that. In case you were inviting me It looks super fun. Did you try a trails tire?
No but Jake and Shane did. Work great on the rock but horrible on the snow / rock. Personally I would run an old knob. That stuff chews tires up quick and anything hooks up on it. Trackmaster told me not to bother with new tires, he was right.
Running a used tire is a good idea, i put more wear on my tracula in 100 miles in moab, than 500 miles here in montana, that slickrock is like riding on a grinder !, and i have never had any tire not hook up on it.
Hey guys was watching some of the video late nite. I so want to go back without snow. Let me know your sept oct date I would love to join in. Maybe I could get Myron and Walt to join in. By then with a summer of riding maybe I'd be up to full speed. Chris
