Back in the day I used motoxotica for some parts and had good luck. They would advertise discount parts. So when I needed a radiator shoud for a 2010 125 I gave them a call (My local dealer said they were on backorder, Butches boats in Barnville MN, ) a very grumpy woman tried to help me, when I asked about getting a discount she said why the H_ _ _ should I give you a discount, I explained I had, had open heart surgery and had been out of the sport for a while, but getting back into it, she replied yea and my dog ate my home work. And not in a nice tone after all this crap I said fine I just want the part. urns out I put up with all that crap for nothing cause they did not have it anyway. Halls did and always has a good attitude!! Sorry Motoexotica but I will NEVER call you again for ANYTHING!! To all the people who have good luck with them, more power to you!!
fletchman - you called Motoxotica up and the first thing you asked is about a discount? Was that your first question when you called the other dealers? I may split this off into another thread.
fletchman - sorry your call didn't go the way you wanted it to go, but I can't believe the call taker thought you were being serious explaining your recent surgery to get a discount. My guess is she thought you were being funny or maybe there is more to it, two sides to every story. I am sure my post isn't going to change your opinion, but I have ordered parts and bought a bike from Motoxotic and have never had a negative experience. I have found they go out of their way to get you the part as soon as they can at a decent price. Motoxotica is a small shop and without internet sales my guess is they would not be around for the long haul so I can't see them seriously trying to lose potential sales. I have always been given fair prices and honest answers when I have called. I was even once told I didn't need to buy anything to fix a particular issue, how many places would do that? If you only shop looking for a discount most of these small shops will be gone eventually. JMO
I think that's a good idea given what this forum is supposed to be about given the "Notices" at the top of the forum. There's a place for a complaint like that, but it doesn't feel like this is the right venue. Just my 2 cents.
The post in question sort of had a specific issue, but the intent of the forum is to simply state the bad things without anger or malice. I'll move this into the general forum. dealer kudos -> general
One visit and two phone transactions. They do a great job. Better than the dealer that I bought the bike from. I got a GREAT price on the bike at another dealer, but zilch help when I had questions. I turned to Motoexotica for assistance and they were great, without Motoexotica I would be sunk.
I don't like to read posts like this although you're certainly entitled to state your opinion. MotoXotica is a small family run business that caters to us Husky owners. They always seem to have the parts I need in stock and on the rare occasion they don't they will have it for you within a week tops. They know husky's and they've always been good to me. As the Wombat stated "without them I'd be sunk" Me too. Fletch, I don't believe anyone gives heart surgury discounts. Glad to hear you're doing well and back into riding though.
I purchased my bike used and it had those great Motoxotica stickers on the front fender. I called up and talked to Anne before I even purchased the bike to Quiz her on the bikes and she was very helpful. Each time I have been there they have been awesome. Sorry you had a bad experience, but they are the best dealership I found in the entire bay area. Got my stickers on my truck, and even my little Honda
I guess I should make a few things clear. I did not ask for a discount because I had open heart surgery. I am in better shape now then probably 5 years ago. I asked if they gave discounts (they always have in the past and at least their old ads stated discount husky parts. You do not get a discount unless you ask or they know you. When I asked if I could get a discount the polite thing to say would have been, I am sorry you have not ordered from us in a long time and we no longer do that. NOT raise their voice and swear at me. The only reason I even mentioned the openheart surgery was because I was rudely asked Why I have not bought parts from them in a while and I let her know that I had not been involved in the sport for a while and had recently had a bypass operation and was getting back into the sport. (NOTHING INVOLVED WITH A DISCOUNT FOR GETTING OPENHEART SURGURY ) There was more bad things said (by her) but I will not start a war and go into detail. Remember I may have good luck with a mechanic and another guy may say he is the worst in town. This is why when you own a business (like myself) you must learn to bite your tongue and be professional even if you think you are asked a stupid question. If I talked to a homeowner the way I was talked to I would be fired on the spot!!! NOT TRYING TO START A WAR!! Lets give benifit of the doubt. Dan sent me a pleasant message and really, I think like we all do sometimes whoever I spoke with was just having a bad day. In the end I forgive, and all who have good luck with them that is great, but do not be quick to criticize the one guy who had bad luck (I'm pretty sure I've got a homeowner or 2 that do not think I was perfect to them either!) Thank god it is america and we ALL can buy from who we choose. God Bless
For the record A DISCOUNT IS NOT THE FIRST THING I ASKED THEM ABOUT!!! And even if I did( I DID NOT) does that give somone the right to use profanity at you?? Again to all of you, Not trying to start a war with anyone, just stating what happened to me. And yes their 2 sides to every story. Every one continue your business with Motoxotica, I understand, but it is sad when someone says something that is true everyone who has had good luck gets mad!! No one is perfect I have had bad days like everyone else. Why is their word any better then mine. Myself and the other one on the end of the line are the ONLY ones who know what was said. I do remember at least their old ads stated discount Husky parts. And if you do not ask, you do not get.
Thanks. For the record I DID NOT ask for a discount because of open heart surgury!! That would be FUNNY!! Like me they are not perfect!! In the past they were good to me and smart about huskys. I believe she just had a bad day.
Thats cool, I know of a few dealers that give good deals to, but do not know any thing. She had a bad day and lost her cool (who hasn't ever) I have forgave and it is about the least thing I care about in my busy life!! If they work for you stick with them!
Sorry if it seemed like their was anger or malice, I could of worded a little different. But it was the truth and If you had heard the conversation. you would have probably been shocked!! I forgive and I forget.
I also realize they sponsor this site. so It is a losing battle on my end (kind of like when a magizine writes bad stuff about a husky because for example they do not spend as much money in advertising as yamaha
Welcome back to the forum, and to riding. To paraphrase someone I know: "communication via the written word is difficult at best". All we know about what happened is what you typed. In 'green' you asked about the discount, and later the 'blue' part indicates you they did not have the part anyway. So my question was, did you ask about the discount before asking about product availability, mostly out of curiosity.
I get that. Clearly someone had a bad day, was probably frustrated, and your less than positive feedback was appropriate - but it still could have been worded a bit less controversial. The practical matter is that the dealer kudos forum is for simple feedback from multiple people on separate occasions, and your post was the start of a long conversation that forum was not intended for. Clearly you don't know me very well. Every single dealer mentioned in that forum would get the same response from me given the same course of events. I'll put a link to this thread in the Motoxotica kudos thread so people can find it.
Wow. I do not know if I can recall exactly how the conversation went but believe I asked for the part 1st. There was a bit of confusion, because I was requesting a left radiator shroud for a 10 125. They thought thay had it, said the price and then I asked about if they offer discounts ( This is not ununusal I am and A rider, have 2 current sponsors, and my local husky dealer Butches Boat and marine give me a 20% discount on husky parts. I was very polite and professional. After all the hoopla I calmly said no problem I do not mind paying retail I just need the part. She calmed down and asked me for my number because of confusion with part number. She called me back app 10 minutes later and honestly did not sound like the same person, She said they did not have the part but did take the time to give me the part number. Again I feel probably just caught her at a bad moment and maybe just got the wrong end of the deal. I did not mean to start such a darn problem, as I really do not care and there are many options out there for buying parts. The problem is when everyone is treated good buy someone they do not want to hear about someone being treated bad because they don't want to accept it. I would like this to end and do not care anymore. Plus I am to slow at typing. I FORGIVE
did not mean to start a long controversial problem, and yes could have been worded a little more tactful. Still every business owner shoud remain professional and tactful to all. Dan did send me a note and apoligized for what happened and I am cool with that. LETS ALL FORGET ABOUT THIS AND REMEMBER WHY WE ARE HERE, BECAUSE WE ALL LOVE HUSQVARNAS, and can all help each other out. I love this site and am thankful for it. Thanks Fletchman45 Also understand, looked like favoritism but probably was not. Sorry for that.
