Well, twisted the right rad during the Baja ride in the sand after the creek crossing. Bottom of rad sustained the majority of the hit with the top not being nearly as displaced. I didn't even realize there was damage until the trip home with the bikes on the trailer and noticed my lower rad shroud (conveyor?) on the right side was popped out and hanging outside of the IMS tank. After returning to my abode I took a closer look and realized the right rad was folded rearward as well as compressed inward toward the frame. Fan guard was resting against the fuel tank and had already worn a significant groove into the tank:eek:. Decided to upgrade my rad protection to BPD's solution, which is very limited for Husky's. I like the milled product although I'm not sure it would have prevented the folding damage either? Anyway, heed BPD's caution regarding "previously damaged radiators" as it can make for an interesting installation of their guards. The inner row of fins on my right rad is pretty much trashed, which changes the clearance to install the BPD's. I had to bend the tabs for the outer bolts of the guards due to the narrower rad profile. None of the bolts wanted to line up easily. The conveyor bolts wouldn't line up on either side without filing the conveyors near the mounting points. Fairly easy to work out. I don't know how much work would be involved if the guards were installed on a new bike; mine has been crunched several times before installation so that is probably the issue with alignment of the the hardware-just as they state in there installation instructions.

Edit shows the lower part of rad and the gap for alignment due to damage. Not a big deal for those who have a lot of tools. Unfortunately I'm not among that group! Was fun to work around.

Those are nice but I like the ones like ours that wrap around the side as they provide support for the sides of the rads which is usually where the damage occurs.

I didn't take pics with the damage incurred with yours installed. The inboard row is compressed to nothingness. Please, I'm not blaming anyone's product for this damage! Me are the blame! Trying something different for my next big crash,

My point was that the sides are now exposed and might incur more damage. Just a thought, it's all good.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Hmmmm, also wondering if I had these mounted and laid it down if the inner bolts might have popped instead of just bending stuff. Hopefully won't have to find out
