I'm giving a salute to Justin Barcia....as of late he appears to have matured quite a lot, in both attitude and riding. Not just for this event but overall I hope the guy can keep his momentum and poise. He's always been fast but a little too loose and reckless with others on the track. This is a great chance for him to show the MXGP guys how he goes.
I'll have to agree with ya on JB51 to some degree... He's 23 and his third yr on a 450?... A yamaha 450 and not a honda any more so I'm cutting him some slack on his ~inconsistent finishing places to date... He should be on a 450 podium ~every race but that has not been the case yet ...He did show some fire this season but is gonna have to remain on the podiums or the younger riders are gonna get his fat pay check in the coming yrs ... Another point on JB...He trains himself currently ..Shows 2 things - 1) Self-discipline, meaning I can get my own a$$ out of bed and go do it. 2) He knows how and what to do to keep himself on top. This is his 2nd or 3rd MXoN? No rookie at the event anyway and he did ride a 450 at the 012 MXoN before riding a season on the 450 bike ... And yes, he can excel and win a moto or 2 at the event this yr ... It's his time and I don't see the current EU guys as dominate... Coop is 18 yrs old and riding a 450 well before he has ridden a season on one... Don't be surprised if he leads a lap or 2 or at least pushes towards the front and hangs it out. JM1 and Coop, both excel and look almost opposite in riding styles with JB51, BamBam, their leader? These guys make up the young and future studs of USA riding and it could get wild ... (Lets don't forget about ET3 and TC41 being out this yr as a couple of true aces in the hole) -- USGP should shed some light on the MXoN ... Should help our younger riders get a small taste of the 2 day racing format these guys use plus some of their on-track tactics ... The lead up to the MXoN will be 3 week-ends in a row that the EU guys have to endure ... That's way off base for their every-other week and sometimes 3 weeks off between races ... Might weigh on them some ...
Here's the #2 rider for France, Paulin... Finally read something on the guy ... He said he has been adjusting to a new brand of bike this yr and that has been an issue plus he has been hurt about all yr with a knee issue ... He finished in the top 10 last weekend ... Myself, I see nothing unbeatable about this rider, even riding at his track ... He's got the opportunity to excel this weekend and he just might ... But there is nothing shown with the numbers below that say it will be easy .... Maybe he was taking a weekend easy prior to racing this weekend? Not sure what that goose egg means for his results racing in his home country this yr ... -- As time runs out to into the racing, GB looks ok if Dean shows again on his new ride ...
