I finally got to do a long ride on the WR. It had been at P3 for 3 weeks and then I've been busy with the Spring rush in my business.

The thing is running awesome with stock Power Up carb mod (slide, needle and jetting). It has been geared down to 13/52 (Stock 13/50) The mid range hole others talk about, doesn't exist on my bike.

I was ripping up hills and grades today like no ones business. Pulling through bar banging tight uphill single track without a hiccup. The mid on my bike is eye watering (It's actually is a little spooky, but fun.) and then when you pull the needle out of the main jet..... it goes into Warpdrive (Just like Star Trek!). Racing on uphill dirt roads in 6th pinned, pretending to be ajaxauto!

Mine totally reminds me of the last CR125 I rode, except..... it has bottom end! I'm afraid to swap out the powervalves on mine!:busted:

Norman, does yours have the upgrade/recall pipe? If not, be careful to inspect the rear shock reservoir for rubbing! You've probably seen the pics of our '09 CR 125 but I just wanted to make sure as an FYI. Also, based on our track experiences so far, I'm afraid to tinker with the valves as well. Our CR screams with the stock setup.

No new pipe. We noticed the stinger/shock interference on set up. Harvey (Bottone's service manager) pulled the pipe and bent the rear mounting tab to move it out from the shock. No problem so far with this tweak. Careful setup is always a plus.

I had put mine away for the time being.....but it didnt run too bad when I had it out at raymond for the first ride....but it was smooth there...yet It had me scratching my head....when you look at it..thats a massive rear tire for a 125...plus that regina Oring chain is quite a bit heavier..also the flywheel effect on the engine.....anyone ridden both previous versions...08 or 07...??? is the difference that noticeable???? Just spinning the rear tire on the service stand by hand....whoa lots of drag there

I was a bit disappointed on the local MX track....though..it needed a lot of clutching....but I didnt buy it for that(mx)....

I miss riding it and sometimes I just go out in the garage and stare at it(its a looker for sure !!)....and if our woods area is dried up a bit more this week(takes till mid june sometimes)...I'm going to give it some more ride time....

Now that I think of it.....my CR (when new) felt tight and wasnt exactly perfect till it loosened up a bit

good to hear yours is giving good service Norm......did you try pulling 10 or 20cc of oil out of the forks....??? did you find them harsh(still new though)

The Enduro Comp 120/90-18 is the same size as a 100/100-18 in other brands. I think the short knobs and wide Husky rear rim make it look bigger.

I thought Joe Chod's '07 WR125 was a big improvement over my '02 engine wise, but never liked the '06-'08 125 ergos (Main reason I kept riding my '02).

I don't ride MX, but we have a sidehill track (No jumps, long story) with bermed uphill/downhill corners with lots of acceleration and braking bumps. I just brake, downshift and go with minimal, to no clutching.

I think that my engine really made the final break in today.... it felt really nice at the end of the ride.

I have not had any issues with mine either. I think it pulls strong and should even be better when we find out from Husky what the issue is with the power valve. My pipe also does what the picture shows above but I do not see where you can bend anything to get more room. My pipe is boxed in on one side by the frame and the other by the shock.

It's a subtle bend to the rear mounting tab. Mine was tight against the shock and now there is about 3/16-1/4" clearence.

I have no clearance issues with mine...after I bent the tab at the front and rotated the pipe outward a quarter of an inch from the hose....it hasnt touched the reservoir at all

Norman Riding a well running HUSKY 125 is pricless People talk about the Malcom smith smile the ear to ear grin any one who has rode one will have that same grin when they are done. But i will have to say
at the husky dealer meeting in Geogra last summer Malcom had the biggest grin when he got off the CR 125 that was there .Glad you got your bike dialed in i beleive the biggest and best change i did was the 13/52 gearing wow i can not ask for anything more. Not even a 144 kit
well maybe .Speaking of pinned ever just keep it pinned on the down hill just hold the kill switch on until you hit the botton then move your thumb and it is all ready to go .Sounds easy my kid has it down but i am still working on it .Lucky you it was over 100 here to day and there are really no more racing until late Sept .Now i can only read how you guys are having all the fun.At least i have a 510 dual sport i can ride up to the mountains

My 09 sat in the garage while the 95 ATK did duties for 200 miles this weekend. Surprisingly the ATK works well in the dez. The 09 125 would have been butter on the 75 mile single track ride we did Sunday though.

Hey all.....I hear that Drewgot a 09 WR125 so look to some possible 125 stuff from WER..at least on suspension specific. He did lots for Summers and crew as well as his nephew for the 6 days. A great legend in the off road world and the Husky 125 bug apparently bit him too! Good stuff all around. Just wondering why all us old guys are loving the 125's? He heh hee

Man it's good to know someone else has had those kind of thoughts too. I was waiting my turn at the parts counter down at my local shop one day, and I just took a seat on a brand new KX100 that happened to be sitting nearby. I looked down at my feet flat on the floor and my knees bent 45 degrees or better, and I started thinking,..."Why, I could take this thing through anything and never ever have to worry about dropping it and gorking up a radiator!",..."In fact I could almost grab it by the cross bar, sling it over my shoulder, and pack it out of a bad spot on my back!" Then I had a chuckle to myself just imagining the expressions on my riding buddies faces the first time I dropped the ramp door on my trailer and rolled out a KX100 at the trailhead,.......:D
