I gave my TE 630 some more air to breath. I wanted to clear away more but had to leave the fasterner grommet in place. I didn't want to open it up below the protection of the side panel. So this is how it looks atm. IMG_4228.JPG IMG_4229.JPG IMG_4221.JPG

`Tis the same as mine. DonĀ“t know why the US model seems to have a kind of maize instead of the tabs.

My stainless mesh hasn't showed up yet (should be tomorrow) but when it gets here I want to do something like this to mine.

I drilled holes in mine in the same area. You can't see it, but I think it made it breathe easier.

Awesome work MASTER_E! That looks great. Much better then my *cough* hack job. Your 630 will not have any shortage of air. Are you planing on getting it back on the dyno now?

Yup, once I can get it out for a couple real rides and let the AutoTune do its thing. I could feel a difference between home and work so I know it was doing something. Kind of excited to see it on the dyno again.

I did the same thing last night... Removed the snorkel and enlarged the opening (SM 630). It definitely feels less "choked-up" when I get on the throttle. Simple to accomplish and a definite, small improvement... Enough to put a smile on my face. [IMG]

After my little ride yesterday with the opened up airbox I'll have to ride with ear plugs from now on. WOW is it loud. I knew it would be but daiumn! Not sure whats louder the exhaust or the airbox...

With the snorkel removed and hole enlarged, mine is a little louder.... But nowhere near needing earplugs. I can actually hear a little engine noise now at 60MPH + where before I couldn't... And that's a good thing. I really didn't like *not* hearing the RPMs at highway speeds before the mod.

I guess you don't want to do many water crossings?

I've ordered a warp9 kit and plan on 99% street riding so no...

And frankly if you're riding the bike through water that high it wouldn't matter if you've opened the box or not... water goes into a snorkel just as well as it would any other hole.

    I just use bridges :D

Did get me thinking about water though- any thoughts on rain going into the airbox?
