This is the wr when I started the rebuild. So I wanted to do a non traditional build since I like to be a bit different from everyone else. Hope you like it, and are willing to bear with me as I progress (slowly).

Looks like you're on your way to a fine build. The bike looked pretty nice before the teardown. What size is the engine? Is that the stock height suspention? I thought it looked lowered a little for a '79. I am looking forwad to watching your build.

It's a 250 and yes it was a rider but with a leaking crank seal it was pretending to be a freight train and smoked like h%!! As far as I know it was stock height wr's were a bit lower for woods riding . That's all going to change tho (hint-hint)
    stay tuned ????

I just used auto paint , its spray paint from dupli-color ultra silver metalic bgm0508 . It looks a little too glossy at first but when it drys it is perfect in my opinion and it drys hard as wood pecker lips. It also touches up real nice and blends really good. strip , ospho , baking soda bath , etching primer , lightly scuff 400 wet sand , filler primer where needed if any , wet sand 400 and paint 2 to 3 coats . I will try to get better pics of paint job soon.

wheels and hubs back from p.c. I have to admit guys the first time I seen husky doggs 83 500 I wanted black wheels , so guess what ?

    10.jpg
front awaiting ? O" come on guys you know I have to go with the S.S
    12.jpg
front kicked my butt , took about 4 rounds and then I finally got it . This is my first ever wheel lace and the S.S. seems to be much more rigid. 14.jpg
Taped the wheel with masking tape and believe it or not I got the real wheel the first round.

I've seen so many stock builds and have only done stock builds myself that I like seeing one that changes things up a bit. Looking good, this may inspire me to do something custom.

ok all done with the stainless pegs. I was going to drill some speed holes but I really did'nt want to make them weak at the ends, maybe later on I will . The other reason I did'nt buy the stainless ones from such and such they just sat to high for my liking . I never was in love with the factory pegs (nut busters) if you ask me , these are a little wider at 1" 1/2 .Really don't like the 2" just seem to wide to me.

84 scrambler, the black rims and foot pegs look great. What kind of tig are you using for the pegs? I'm considering buying a small one for all the damaged cases I've got.
